For those people sick of Xmas carols

Dec 17, 2007 09:21

Because it's the holidays, we all hear the same repetitive, cloying Christmas carols being played *everywhere* a sound system exists. I, for one, get extremely sick of them...and I felt that way before I even considered myself non-Christian. After all, they use songs celebrating Jesus to sell tampons now, and that's clearly in bad taste.

However, I do enjoy the spirit of song. Music is an important part of life. It speaks to the soul.

For those with dark and twisted souls, though, who also need a little bit of holiday spirit, I bring you a Lovecraft solstice:

This is a collection of carols as reimagined by the H. P. Lovecraft Historical Society. The choir is very good, and the rewording is the perfect antidote to commercialism around you. After all, if you're going to be surrounded by religious pap, don't you want to make sure your own inner demons are represented?

Enjoy!
