Law Enforcement Against Prohibition has created
a petition in support of Joe Miller, a deputy probation officer in Arizona who was fired in retaliation after he signed a letter in support of Proposition 19, California's marijuana legalization initiative.
The petition has a text field in which you can enter a personal comment. I wrote:
It seems completely surreal to me that anyone would need to have it explained to them that firing public servants for expressing a political opinion is a bad idea. Who could possibly mistake this for rational or conscionable behavior?
