This was a great interview... I wish there were more like him and Jim Goad. I left this area at a very early age. But took a lasting appreciation for the honest values of these people and their ability to see through the BS of politics, and anything that struck them as insincere or fancy. There was a much stronger sense of community, translate… “family values” (which I resent having become a code word for the pro-lifers).
Coming back many years later, yes, I was astounded to see how they’d fallen right into the hands of the political party that was giving them a royal screwing.
No wonder he just went to Belize. Something I myself considered doing… thinking back on it, I may have fallen prey to disinfo about Belize even. I read too many articles about how it was all ex-pat criminals running from the American justice system. I am starting to think that by the time this all makes sense it will be too late.
