Can it be considered ironic that the day after we celebrated Independence Day, there's a good bit of demagoguery going on in regard to one of the key results of that revolution, which is that in order to convict someone the government has to prove their guilt beyond a reasonable doubt?

Those jurors had to know how people would react to their verdict. They could have taken the easy way out, but didn't.

In these matters, letting emotions overrule reason leads to nothing but trouble.
