Day 02 - A show that you wish more people were watching

Given the network it airs on, Burn Notice is pulling in fairly decent ratings. I am a bit concerned, though, since they pulled an Oliver this season. "Pulling an Oliver" means that they introduced a new character in an effort to revive interest in the show ( Read more... )

I watch Burn Notice! But I do so on Hulu--I don't get USA Network on the tv.

Love it. Lots of fun, makes you smile, and the good guys are really good guys. Who break the law.

I don't think of Jesse as Cousin Oliver. I don't think he's in it for the long haul. He's there to stir up trouble, but eventually his story will end.

He's a long-term plot point. Not an antagonist, exactly, at least not until he finds out who burned him. Right now he's there specifically to create friction. He doesn't listen to Michael, doesn't stick to the plan, etc. Fiona kinda likes his impulsive, shoot-first-ask-later approach to things (it mirrors hers), which doesn't help. But eventually it'll all come to a head and he'll go away.

Or so I believe.

I figured the new guy was there as the Token Ethnic Character. But I don't think he's adding much; they were doing pretty damn well before trying to add that twist.
