Here's a 2006 survey that I stole from Maddie and Leslie -- it's actually a really good
1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?
Taught a class of my own, drank legally, went to a bar, bonded with my brother, got birthday calls at midnight, etcetc
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions and will you make more for next year?
I don't make New Years' resolutions; I try to be a better person, as measured by my own standards, all year long
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
I have a new cousin, but I haven't seen him
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Negatory, unless you count Steve Irwin :(
5. What countries did you visit?
Yeah riiiiight
6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
I don't really want anything, I have a really good life. Wait. I want Jim and Pam to hook up!!!!! Can that count?
7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
February 5: One for the thumb.
June 26: I stepped into a classroom of my own for the first time
August 27: Best birthday ever
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Intern of the Year at Roberto Clemente MS, por supuesto. Also, the 'burgh won the Bowl, which effing ruled.
9. What was your biggest failure?
I don't fail at things
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Aside from the three-year-long cold, not really.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Probably TV shows on DVD
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My family's, because we are finally getting along; my best friend, because we're still as tight as we were in HS; Leslie, Caitlin, Jess, Sarah and Taryn, for being amazing in general, and of course the honorary BS resident, Maddie, for watching Veronica Mars and gorging with me. All of my amazing friends from work. All of the kids I know or met. Ben Roethlisberger, Willie Parker, Troy Polamalu, Hines Ward, Alan Faneca, Heath Miller, Nate Washington, Santonio Holmes, Jeff Reed, Ike Taylor, Joey Porter, Bryant McFadden, Casey Hampton, James Farrior, Larry Foote, and the rest of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
The MAN
I violently hated some dudes from work.
The Steelers in their losing streak.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Leslie says: clothes, rent, food, alcohol. Yes.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Have you met me? I get really excited about watching TV. I was psyched to turn 21, to teach, and to have a vacation. THE SUPERBOWL.
16. What song(s) will always remind you of 2006?
I wrote about this on my blog.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? immeasurably happier
ii. thinner or fatter? y'all know me well enough to know i pay no attention to that

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Nothing. As in, I wish I'd done nothing more.

Spending money
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Christmas morning at my house with my family and grandpa, then out to my Aunt Michele's for dinner
21. What was the most embarrassing thing that happened to you in 2006?
Well, I can tell you what it's NOT: I never sang Spice Girls after Leslie snapper her foot off c/o the Hyphen
22. Did you fall in love in 2006?
with fictional characters, and all of the Steelers
23. How many one-night stands?
I haven't gotten past a high-five with a dude in over a year. It's like .0005 base.
24. What was your favorite TV program?
Veronica Mars, The Office, Grey's Anatomy, Project Runway
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Yeah, I have lost a good friend.
26. What was the best book you read?
umm the Jessica Darling series, so so good
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
The Old 97's: a re-discovery
28. What did you want and get?
I also got a computer, as well as the Writing Center job, A Pittsburgh Superbowl win
29. What did you want and not get?
Laid by the merit of my green shirt. Just kidding. A repeat of Superbowl XL :((((
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Definitely "Little Miss Sunshine." I really liked "Half Nelson" as well.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
A few people came over, and we went out to the Royal Tavern and then to the Dive, and it was awesome. Caitlin made me a "21" in cookies a la Rory Gilmore when she didn't suck it.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
Putting clothes on my body and mostly trying to match; polka dots.
34. What kept you sane?
Football, TV, and the internet. I'm honest.

Ben Roethlisberger, our love is so real y'all

illegal immigration, educational inequity

My family

I met Maddie and got to know Lucie a lot better, they bother count.
