A WEIRD Eco-tip involving peanut butter...

Peanut butter as a cleaning substance - who'd have thunk it???? dangerpuddle is responsible for telling me about this one and so I tip my hat to you!

This came about because I saved a plastic Pub Mix container so I could make a yarn caddy out of it. [Jar or baggie enclosing yarn to keep it clean with a hole in it so one strand comes out that you knit with.] Scrubbed it out but the label left that nasty, sticky miasma that never wants to come off. Tried soap, baking soda and vinegar, Bon Ami, steel wool...nothing. So Monday night, she suggested either rubbing alcohol or peanut butter. Didn't have the former but there was an old jar lurking at the back of the fridge with a scraplet of peanut butter left in it.

It actually works.  Smear on problem area and scrub away with a damp sponge (preferably one with a scratchy side) and voila - miasma is gawn!  I am very easily amused...
