I've been waiting for more of this one for awhile now. I'm glad it's getting posted up finally, gives me something nice to read while I'm not feeling too good. ( You should ask Cofie to do some art of the wedding -- The feathers have me curious. XD )
Also, I wanted to say Thank You and Congratulations.
Congrats on the book, sincerely. As soon as you mentioned doing it, I knew you could make it happen. I'm actually quite miffed because I can't afford it right away, though. But I'll definitely read the prologue story you posted up, and as soon as we have the extra money, I'm gonna get it.
And... Now for the sappy part. Thank you so much for taking the time to kick me in gear to let people know how I'm doing. Thank you for being concerned. It actually made me a bit teary-eyed, because I've been feeling so crappy lately that I was beginning to wonder if I was being forgotten because of all my absences. So thank you. It makes me really happy to know that I'm not disappearing, and that there are still people out there who care.
Between posting this and being such a sweetheart, you've made my week. ^_^
I wish you all the success you can get your hands on -- oh, but I'll be so sad when there's no more fics. ;__; Maybe just a few every so often on the side? *cheesy grin* Some mangaka still draw doujins for fun, y'know? <3
Sorry if 3/4 of this is lame.... x_x;;

I got a shock this month, one of my friends hadn't been online and she turned up and explained she's been in the hospital and it kinda freaked me out about the other people I hadn't heard about lately. You especially hadn't been around for a long time. >_<
Ne, what's your email address?

LOL, no rush on the fanfic thing, I'd wanna be doing my own thing too if I finally had the chance. I'll just miss your fics because you have such a nice writing style and do so well with the characters (even in, or maybe especially in, weird/funny situations). I'd be happy with random drabbles created specifically for the purpose of defeating writer's block. XD;; To be honest, I'd almost like to ask your advice on a few things, because you're one of the few people I know with so much experience. ^_^;;
The email I check most often is my Gmail account:

I apologize in advance if I'm slow in responding. x_x;;

Thanks so much!!
I'm gonna recommend other romance readers I know to your book page. It's the least I can do. I feel bad for not being able to actually pay money and support you that way, because you deserve it. So yes, I shall send some links to my friends most definitely. ^_^
The advice I'd need... Well, it's actually more along the lines of "casual suggestions from the point of view of someone who's done it".... XD;;; It's for both me and my girlfriend, but mostly because I want to help my girlfriend -- she's wanted to publish a book for longer than I've known her, and that's going on eight years already. x_x;; And I have a few random questions that I'd like to be bold enough to ask someone who has more knowledge and experience.
How does one get over 'stage fright' and begin writing?
How do you keep for so long at the same project without getting bored/angry/sick of it?
What are the best ways to get published?
What kind of steps would you recommend to get things done in the best/most efficient way?
I have to admit, that idea you mentioned in your journal, about 'word weeding' -- I'd never thought of it before, and it's an awesome writer's trick. I'm not exactly asking for lessons or anything, but just... Oh, I don't know... We've been having such bad luck in my household lately that my girlfriend is starting to talk about giving up on her dream of being a writer, and I really don't want her to. I've been trying to think of ways to just get her writing, like story-go-rounds and stuff, but..... It always feels like getting started is one of the hardest things, and keeping it going is the other. x_x;;
Ah, sorry for the long crazy comment of doom. x_x;;;
But thank you for the book!! <3
I know this'll probably sound weird coming from someone on the internet you barely know, but.... When I found out your book made it, I was really proud of you. I still am, and it's so awesome to have known you and read your work beforehand and to see the progress. Also, it kinda gives a little hope, because it means that it can be done if you try hard enough, and real people can get to do things they want to do, even if it sometimes seems impossible.
Ah, again, sorry for the huge block of text... But thank you.
You're awesome. ^_^

Determination. Finding something that works and sticking with it. For some people it's a daily word count--something like 500 words. Small, manageable---but if you do it every day, you end up with a short story in a week or two and a novelette in three months. For me it's National Novel Writing Month. Every November I sit down and pull out over 100k words. Good, bad, who cares. They come out where I can see them and evaluate them.
How do you keep for so long at the same project without getting bored/angry/sick of it?
Same answer as before...determination, goals. And knowing when it is okay to take breaks. Also, deadlines help.
What are the best ways to get published?
-Write good and have interesting ideas
-Learn about the publishing business, like by reading agents' blogs
-Always follow submission directions. Ssly, so many people don't listen to directions, just doing it helps.
-Not giving up because everybody gets rejections along the way. I got three so far, I expect to collect lots more.
What kind of steps would you recommend to get things done in the best/most efficient way?
Uh, I'm not very good at efficient. I just keep going until something works out. >.>
It depends what your girlfriend writes and what's her goals. Does she want money and a big career or just a little recognition to keep her going? Is she into literary stuff, romance, smut? Does she like to write short stories? If she's cool with small writing and romance/smut, epublishing is a very good starting point. Otherwise it's harder (especially now, stupid recession) because you need to get hold of an agent.
Honestly, I went with RR because they're new and hunting for new stories. I thought it gave me a better shot and I just wanted to shove a foot in the heavy door of publishing, if only to make myself feel more determined to get to print publishing. They paid me $200. Maybe next I can get $2000. Then $20000. Then the WORLD.
So, well. I guess your girlfriends needs to identify what she likes to write, what's her market and how to reach it.

A few other people said they're proud too. I guess it's just that fandom is interconnected to a degree where we know we affect each other and me getting my first sale is a direct result of my time in fandom. Everybody who ever encouraged me to write more or told me about grammar stuff, they helped me get here.
