Spam I just got from Congressman Cao's campaign; my response comes first, and the letter is below. The lies AND insinuations about health care reform make me want to vomit. I hope this scumbag is bankrupted by his own health care issues.

Dear Mr. Cao,
I am so glad to hear that you have wasted your money buying my email address! My name is not Jason; I am not American and I don't live in the U.S.; and even if I could, I wouldn't vote for a lying, fear-mongering thug like you if you paid me everything you're worth, which, frankly, is about 2¢, plus everything the health insurance lobbyists have paid you, which is probably enough to keep you in hell for a million years.
Please, keep on wasting your money on futile campaign initiatives like this one.

It's About Conviction
Dear Jason,
After almost a year in Congress, that's what I've come to understand. I've been through enough in life to know my true beliefs.
The love of my family and the convictions of a life spent dedicated to higher causes and a higher Power are my tonic against Potomac Fever.
And yet, my convictions have been tested. We all know that I've come to Congress at a critical time for our state and nation.
Our recovery, four years on, from Hurricane Katrina is far from complete.
Our national economy, our savings, and the value of our homes have been flattened by a global fiscal crisis. Our government's response to that crisis has fundamentally altered its relationship to our economy.
Amid these circumstances, the legislative priorities of Congressional Leadership have forced me to make many tough votes. The "old guard" in Washington is using this crisis to advance their goal of enlarging and reshaping American government on a host of key problems.
Jason, you know our national health care debate is a momentous fight for the future of our personal health and our nation's economic health - as well as for that of future generations. The stakes of the policy debate are impossibly high. The quality of each of our lives is on the line.
The health care policy discussion isn't a matter of "politics as usual". This is literally a matter of life and death. And, in the case of unborn children and the elderly, I choose life. I have spent my entire life getting people to work towards a cause that is greater than themselves. And, even if the positions I take are not politically popular, I will remain true to these principles. No D.C. insider rhetoric will change this, and regardless of what political pundits may say, I will not compromise.
Let me make this abundantly clear: I will not support a bill that endangers the lives of the unborn or the lives of the elderly. (You can find my ideas on health care at www.THISSPACEPAIDFORBYTHEHEALTHINSURANCELOBBY.com.)
This has made me public enemy Number One in the eyes of the liberal Washington Establishment. I have a political target on my back, and as far as Washington Democrats are concerned, I'm a good enemy to have.
I represent the most Democrat seat held by a Republican in Congress, and in their opinion, appear to be the most vulnerable.
But the same song was written the last time, and we provided them with a different tune.
I beat former Congressman Bill Jefferson who was just convicted on 11 of 16 counts of corruption after being found with $90,000 worth of marked cash in his freezer. We need to keep up the fight.
Given the challenging circumstances of my district, one of the most pertinent questions I am asked is: "What on earth made you decide to run for office?"
The answer is very simple because the most important element of leadership is service.
I ran for office because I see that the needs of Louisiana's second district are not fully being met. I ran because the constituents of New Orleans and Jefferson Parish have been deprived of the leadership in Congress they deserve.
My motives are not deeper than every day Washington, DC politics. My mission in public office is service. That is what my district deserves. That is what the American people deserve.
My critics think I'll be an easy target to topple as the opposing party seeks to solidify their grip on power in Washington.
I'm out to prove that solid, ethically responsible, representation can be politically successful ANYWHERE. The American people want solutions.
But, I need your help to prove the point. I've been the underdog before. My life has been about facing challenges and helping others do the same.
I came to Washington to put the needs of Louisiana first. I didn't think we were receiving the quality of representation we needed. I hope I've lived up to that promise, but I need to continue the work. My task is far from complete, and my convictions will not change.
Now I need your help to prove political conviction has political consequences.
Positive consequences.
Please make a donation to my campaign today so I can finish my work and send a message to my opponents and to the national Democrats: those who stand up for American values and liberty won't be toppled so easy, no matter how unlikely their rise.
Many thanks,
Congressman Anh "Joseph" Cao
Second Congressional District, Louisiana
P.S. Because national Democrats think my seat will be the easiest to take back next fall, help me prove them wrong. I've put my political life on the line for my convictions. Please make a contribution to help me prevail. We have only begun to fight.
