Drugs!!! wheeeeeeee!
okay, so I'm not nearly as doped up as I was on the loratab after my jaw surgery, but I can still tell that I'm drugged. I got to the hospital around noon, for the surgery that I was scheduled for at 1:30. At 3:00, I was called back for pre-op prepping, having been sitting in the waiting room for 3 hours, entertaining all of the other patients, as my parents and I typically do whenever we're in public. The srugery went fine, the only part I was nervous about was the pain block,a s I've never undergone local anesthesia, only general. As much fun as it was to watch him poking around in my ankle with a rather larger needle and feeling sparks go up my foot whenever he hit the nerve, it was the worst part of the surgery by far. I watched the whole thing and thought it was fascinating. Not a very complex surgery; it was entertaining watching him cut through my bone and feeling the vibrations up my leg (and by entertaining, I mean slightly disorienting). The whole surgery lasted a total of 33 minutes after 3 1/2 hours of waiting, and I was home around 4. So...I'm alive! and well, although the nerve block is beginning to wear off so I'm getting a bit more uncomfortable. Anyway, just thought I'd update everyone, hope the holidays are going well for everyone!
