wow, so its been quite a while since I've been on here. I suppose that's because I have no real assignments as of yet, so I have no pressing reason to look for a means of procrastination. Break was overall quite enjoyable, I got to spend some good quality time with people I haven't seen in while (before some of them left the country again, that is!).
As always, it was fun spending time with my dad, listening to music, talking politics/religion, and hanging out. I loved seeing mom too, and am still amazed at how well she's doing post-surgery, and it is certainly interesting to discover that our interaction has turned from "maggie, I wish you weren't gay" toward "let's find maggie a date!" I love her dearly though. I got to dish all of my melodrama to Kelley and I love her to death. Even though I won't follow her advice, and true to my M.O. I will take the coward's path, against advice from my friends as well.
I got alot of really good mucis for christmas, some I got as gifts, other that I've gifted to myself :-) and I also got some great new rugby cleats, which I can't wear due to an unfortunate encounter with some concrete that left a few of my toes sans skin. If I can ever get around to it, I am also getting a cd player installed in my car, although my parents have decided to offer me the choice of a cd player or something like an iPod or Zen micro, so I'm not sure which route I'll take there.
Classes look like they'll be really good this semester, though certainly challenging. I'm looking forard to having an organic professor who can actually teach, so I have actually been going to class. (surprising, I know!) Other than organic, I'm also taking honors integral, science writing as literature (an awesome class I read the Lorax for), ecology and evolution of human disease, Buddhism through Film and Literature seminar, the co-requisite labs, and research credit.
Rugby is going really well so far, I'm currently the treasurer, so I get to entertain ideas of going to Florence on the team money, which I know I'm too honest to ever really do. I definitely was hurting after the first few practices, but its a good "I want to curl up in a fetal position" pain, really it is. We have our first game JAN 29TH at THE UGA INTRAMURAL FIELDS VS WESTERN CAROLINA. COME!! and it should be good, if the team can come down here. We pretty much have games every weekend through february and into march. We had a pub crawl on Friday night where we all dressed up like pirates and cowboys and went from bar to bar downtown. It was a lot of fun to hang out with people on the team and I got really drunk before going back to Keisa's to crash, but its my last 'release' before I start the grunt work for all of my classes. Thanks for putting up with me, if I called you that night. Kelley said I was more coherent drunk that I am sober...ah well.
Other than rugby and classes, I'm going to Portland, OR Feb 24th for the Kamchatka meeting and Elizabeth and I are staying an extra day to go ski on Mt. Hood, which should be lots of fun. I'm also headed up to Boston in March, over spring break , to visit Kelly and Blair, so look out, Smith definitely needs to bump up their security before I get there.
I guess this serves as my seemingly mandatory New Year's post, so here are a few of my resolutions (which we know I won't keep with my record). I'm going to resolve to hang out with friends more, see them more often and make more of an effor to drag myself out of studying to go do things. I'm going to focus on myself more; spend time rock climbing sketching, or reading, or taking pictures--things that make me happy. I'm going to rely less upon other's opinions of me for my own happiness. I'm 19, I shouldn't be looking for someone to settle down with. There is so much out there that I want to do and experience and there's hardly time for me to do all of that, let alone fit a relationship in there. While those don't sound like very concrete "I wanna lose 10 lbs, work out more, and find my soul mate" type resolutions, they're what I want to try and concentrate on more. Now that I wasted your very valuable time, I'l stop sounding like a blithering idiot and get on with my life, which right now consists of prednisone, some really psychedelic sounding music, and the need to do a lot of homework. Hope everyone enjoys their day!

p.s except for the substitution of sigmas for capital E's, which drove me insane, Elektra is a great movie, with incredible plot lines, and lots of...merit. yeah. Everyone should feel sorry for Joseph, who I dragged to see it, but I thought it was quite...good.

p.p.s. I have new pics up on my webshots account, username Klymber03 (I'm just that creative with ids) from rugby and florida, so go check it out.
