The trip rocks so far!! It is so much fun and so amazing. It absolutely poured rain the first night. I was soaking wet and the rain and winds beat my tent all night long, not to mention the tremendous thunder and lightening. We're at Sapelo island right now, in some (thankfully!) air conditioned dorms and I've just gotten back from the beach, looking for sea turtles. There's an alligator behind the dorms right now, which some of the girls have gone to see up close. Hmmmm, let's think here: approach an agitated reptile that can run up to 35 mph in the dark with a bright light or go to sleep. My choice should be obvious; if I'm losing limbs, it's going to be out west, not in the southeast. We have lectures heare about 7 hours a day and today we had a marsh walk and beach walk. My neck gives a whole new meaning to 'red neck.' don't tell mom, I really did wear sunscreen (45 spf) but I'm still red. The people here are awesome, but I miss all of you back home! Hope everyone is having fun, thanks for entertaining me during the week I was supposed to be packing! I'll be heading out west friday at 5 am (yes, I actually get up before 12 now, try 6:00) I don't know if I'll have internet access out there, so I hope everyone's summer goes well, and I'll try and drop people a postcard when I get out there. Miss everyone!
