Season premiere week - Monday (with a little bit of last Thursday and Friday)

Sep 25, 2012 10:15

So, season premiere week has finally started, and I'm thrilled. I missed my fall shows so much. Unfortunately, there's so much on TV and it's pretty hard to catch up.

Boardwalk Empire's premiere was pretty good, but I still have to catch up on the second episode. I'll do that today.

First up, The Office.

Haven! Oh, how I love Haven. But I must say, I don't think Duke is just randomly having feelings for Audrey. I think they've structured the relationships, since the show's beginning, to reflect that both Nathan and Duke are in to Audrey. In the first season, Duke made Audrey a romantic dinner - well, he tried to. He's always doing stupid, dangerous stuff because she asks him to, he's very protective of her, and I think with all the longing looks he's giving Audrey, it's pretty apparent he digs her (See the end of "Audrey Parker's Day Off"). So, in sum, I'd say his feelings for her a pretty well-established.

Oh, I forgot about the romantic dinner! This is what happens when you don't have the DVDs and haven't seen the episodes since they originally aired. (And damn, I really need to get the DVDs soon.)

I think Duke's feelings for Audrey have been building basically since the pilot. Which is why they have to get over this whole mess and just have a threesome. PROBLEM SOLVED.

There were people other than Sophia Bush in Partners? I didn't notice. ;)

I think it was pretty obvious that Elizabeth Mitchell was alive because...it's Elizabeth Mitchell. You don't hire her for flashbacks. And it's a Kripke show, one parent has to be missing and there's an epic quest. *checks off that box* I think Charlie has basically never left her little town though. They're really far from everywhere else and they don't really have guns and probably avoid the militia as much as possible, so I guess I can understand it. I mean, how much would we know about the outside world without TV and the internet and all that.

You do have a good point about Charlie. Hopefully, this naivety goes away soon, though.

people are saying they don't think they get married because ted was at the train station, but i think the reason he is there because they DO get married.

he's obviously sad about it. he thought he would marry robin at one point, but she said she didn't want to get married so they broke up. and now she's getting married before him. to another one of his friends who he thought would never settle down.

he's the one who wants the marriage + kids, meanwhile everyone else around him is getting it. so i think that's why he isn't celebrating with them, he's feeling a bit depressed about it all.

if they hadn't got married, he'd definitely be with them supporting them tbh

Same! Plus, there's the fact that they've been building up the Wedding Mystery for years and it'd be stupid to not have them get married.

And Ted's the last one single in the group. That has to be depressing, especially as he's the one who wanted it the most.

Plus it plays into his meeting his mother. He's at a very low point, feeling like he'll be single forever, and then BAM there she is. Like it was fate.

jksndfjkjsdalkfjakl. how good was the premiere though? the box of stuff, with the voice-over on top of it.

i still can't believe this ship sailed tbh. remember back in the day, when we all shipped it, and everyone said it wouldn't happen. IT HAPPPENED AND IT'S BEEN AMAZING

Yes! Like way back in season one, people were shipping them and I never thought it'd happen, but then the shipping reached a fever pitch in season three and suddenly, Barney/Robin!

Gah, I still can't believe.
