The night before her husband’s funeral, Melinda Gordon laid in bed and couldn’t stop crying. She didn’t know how to go on without Jim. Sure, his spirit was hanging around (and trying to calm her down) right now, but it wasn’t the same.
“Give him back!” Melinda screamed. She didn’t care that Delia and Eli were staying with her and could hear everything she said. They refused to leave her.
Nothing would ever be okay again. She was a widow. Jim was gone and never coming back. Melinda Gordon was lost without her husband.
She didn’t know what to do.
