He’s going to save Neal any chance he gets. That’s the reason Peter rushed towards him when he nearly got shot. Neal doubting him about Kate earlier had hurt.
He heard what Elizabeth told Neal - That he’s the best thing that ever happened to the young man. Peter believes that. Neal’s working really well as a consultant. Peter hopes he’s the reason for that.
Neal - his best friend - won’t get hurt on Peter’s watch.
