Chapter Summary:Mirai knew what happened in the past, the reason why Miki knew the twins and why Ryo was angry at
Miki. Will she able to mend their broken friendship?
Chapter 7
We rode the car without speaking at each other and when we arrived at the mansion he excused himself and went straight to his room.
I wonder why Ryo was mad at Miki earlier. His glare at Miki was really intense as if Miki made an unforgivable mistake. I sighed as I lay on my bed and stared at the ceiling. I want to find out what happened between them, but I don’t want to bother Miki, he seemed upset because of Ryo’s behavior towards him. I decided to let him tell me what happened whenever he is ready.

Miki did not dine with us, Oka-chan asked a maid to bring his food in his room. Oka-chan must have noticed that I’m worried.
“Don’t worry Mi-chan he will be fine” she said as she held my hand and squeeze it. I felt relieved then I beamed at her.
After I ate dinner I went to my room which is right next to Miki’s room, I fought the urge to go to his room and ask him what’s wrong, in the end my sensible self told me to give Miki some space. I went inside my room and opened the sliding door that leads to the terrace. The scene was breathtaking. Since our house is on top of a hill the city lights glowed like a myriad of colors which is very enjoyable to view. It has a perfect view of the beautiful garden too. I saw Miki sitting on the bench facing the fountain. He seemed to be in deep thought. Then he saw me and motioned me to go down. I immediately ran to the garden.
He beckoned me to sit beside him. He was silent for a moment, and when I was about to open my mouth to ask him, he spoke.
“Have you done something that disappointed your friend?” Miki asked he was looking at his feet, it’s obvious he’s still upset.
“I don’t think I have, but if I did, I can’t recall it, why did you ask?” I queried, my brows were furrowed.
“You asked why Ryo-kun was mad at me earlier, right? It’s because I did something unforgivable for him” Miki said seriously.
Flashback
“Okay boys, two days from now is the championship, we won’t have a practice tomorrow, because I want you to relax before the big day” coach Yamapi’s voice boomed in the stadium while all of us nodded in agreement.
“You’re dismissed, Inoo and Kamiki, stay for a while, I need to talk to you” Coach Yamapi said.
Ryo and I looked at each other with bewildered expression, we don’t have any idea what coach would want from us. When our team mates left the stadium, coach looked straight into our eyes . “I’m depending on you two for our championship game, we could win this if the two of you would step up and just give your best shot, okay?” he said while looking at us expectantly.
“Yes coach!” the two of us answered.
When we were on our locker room…
“Ryun,let’s hang out at my place tomorrow, Chii told me he wants to play soccer with you”
“Eh? Why me, don’t you play soccer with him?” I asked and he chuckled as my forehead creased.
“He likes to play with you because you let him win sometimes, I on the other hand don’t spoil him when it comes to soccer” he replied still chuckling.
“Okay see you tomorrow then!” I waved goodbye as he get inside their car.

“Ryun!” Chii yelled, he was standing by their gate. I beamed at him as I get out of our car and headed to their gate.
“I’m glad you came, nii-chan was in the garden already waiting for you” he said as he lead me to their garden.
“Oi Ryun!” Ryo stood and kicked the soccer ball towards me in which I was able to return to him effortlessly.
“It seems that you’re all set for tomorrow Ryun, You were trained to be a victor after all” Ryo said with a proud face, it reminds me of coach Yamapi.
“What are you talking about? It’s not only me, you’re also in perfect shape Ryo, I wouldn’t be surprised if you will become the MVP tomorrow” I countered.
“Hey enough with the pep talk Ryun,let’s play” Chii muttered impatiently and Ryo and I chuckled at his childish behavior.
Then we started playing, Ryo was right Chii enjoyed playing with me since I allow him to win most of the time. I see no point on teasing Chii, besides I can’t make Chii feel upset because he has a weak heart. Ryo is very protective of his brother because of that,but when it comes to soccer he never allow Chii to win, he reasoned that it his only exception to the rule.
When Chii got tired we sat on the grass and eat the snacks that the maid prepared and we chatted about school, soccer and video games. It was already getting dark when I called my driver to fetch me, before I left.
“Ryun, you will be in the game tomorrow right?” Ryo asked before I left.
“Of course I’ll go, what makes you think otherwise?” I asked.
“I’m just worried, promise me that you will definitely go tomorrow”
“Okay, I promise” I held my hand as if I was making an oath, he finally grinned at me.

Kaa-chan wanted to see me play so she accompanied me to the stadium, she sat in one of the bleachers and I went to the dugout and listened to Coach Yamapi’s pep talk.
“I know all of you guys are nervous, it’s okay to be nervous but don’t let it overpower you, you trained hard to win, so I want you to give your best shot tonight and enjoy the game!”
1..2..3..JAGUARS GO!
During the first half of the game we were leading 3-2, Ryo and I really gave our best shot, same with the rest of the team, but before the second half started my mom waited for me outside the dugout and when I saw her I went out to meet her.
“I’m very proud of you Ryun!” she beamed. Suddenly her phone rang. She picked it up.
“Moshi…moshi…Hai, I’m Mrs. Kamiki …nani?” she turned pale as she dropped her phone on the floor, then tears rolled down her cheeks. I had an ominous feeling something bad happened.
“Doshta Kaa-chan?”I asked anxiously.
“Ryun, You’re dad…he is in the hospital, he had an accident” she hugged me tightly and I felt her shoulder shook.
“Kaa-chan let’s go to the hospital now” I said as I pulled her towards the Stadium’s exit. I left without telling coach what happened.
My dad was comatosed when we arrived at the hospital, the doctor was not sure if he will be able to wake up, I stayed by my dad’s side the whole night. My mom brought me home so I could rest and after dropping me off she went back to the hospital. Ryo then called.
“Ryun, how could you left, we were about to win, we were leading , how could you drop the team like that?” his voice was full of hurt.
“Ryo I have a reason why I left”I tried to explain.
“Whatever reason that might be, it won’t change the fact that you broke your promise, you let the team down and because of that I won’t forgive you!”he yelled..
“But Ryo” I muttered but the line went dead.
A week after that my dad died, but nobody in school knew. I was hurting inside but I still put up a cheerful face. Then Ryo began treating me with a cold shoulder, Chii was still the same though but whenever he tried to talk to me Ryo would call him.
End of flashback
“Sou ka, so that’s what happened, it was just a misunderstanding, you should have told him what happened, that way, he would understand” I told Miki
“I was about to do that but they transferred to another school and house too” he answered.
“Now you can tell him, go to my school tomorrow after dismissal, you can tell him your side of the story” I gave him an encouraging look and patted his shoulder, he sighed in relief and then he hugged me tightly.
“Arigatou Mi-chan, I’m glad you came to my life” he softly said.
