Kamiki’s POV
Yosh finally I’m here, Horikoshi Gakuen, the school where I will spend 3 of my precious high school years. I wonder what’s in store for me but even so the path to my future is unclear I will face it with a big smile on my face. Speaking of future, just before I came here I found out that Mirai my co-star from Tantei Gakuen SP and live Action drama will be studying here too. The three HSJ members Yamada, another co-star from TGQ, Chinen and Nakajima will be here as well. As I neared the gymnasium where the orientation will be held I saw Yaotome senpai and his fellow seniors greeting my fellow freshmen as they enter the gym.
“Ohayo, Kamiki-kun” Yaotome senpai greeted flashing off a playful smile.
I can’t help but return his smile as I greeted “Ohayo, Yaotome senpai” I headed inside the gym and looked for a vacant seat. When I was finally sitting comfortably I felt a tap on my shoulder and when I raised my head to find out who it was, Shougo’s goofy face greeted me.
“Ryun! Thank God, I thought I won’t see you till we’re done with the orientation” he blabbered.
“Hush, sit down, the orientation is about to start” motioning him to sit beside me. He obliged and as soon as he was seated he started talking again.
“I’m glad that we are classmates Ryun” he began but I gave him an annoyed look enough to silence him.
When the orientation ended we started filling out of the gym and proceeded to our respective classrooms. As I entered our classroom few of my classmates were already there, they greeted me and I returned their greetings trying my very best to be cheerful so as to gain friends right away. I hang my bag at the side of my table and sat down. Shougo took the seat to my right.
“Kamiki-kun?” a familiar voice called out. I turned my head and smiled to the young lady in front of me. Mirai beamed as well as she settled on the seat at my left.
“Hisashiburi Mirai-chan” I said I can’t seem to wipe the smile off my face, I miss her, not in a romantic kind of way. I miss her because we certainly formed a bond while we were filming TGQ live action, I kinda knew her better while we were filming the drama. During the SP we didn’t get the chance to know each other that much because we felt awkward and we were focused on our acting, but the live action was different, we get to fool around since we broke the barrier that kept us from being friends.
“It’s been two years ne?” she cheerfully said, just then Nakajima, Chinen and Yamada entered the classroom.
“Ohayo minna!” Nakajima greeted and our classmates answered back. Chinen and Yamada-kun were silently finding their way to their seats. Yamada sat in front of Mirai. Mirai poked Yamada’s back and when he turned his head. Mirai greeted him.
“Hisashiburi Yamada kun” she smiled, obviously happy to see him.
“Un” was all he said and turned his back against her. Mi-chan was taken aback by his cold response. Her face fell, disappointed that Yamada wasn’t as warm as before. I heard her sigh.
“Ne Mi-chan how was your vacation, was it fun?” I tried to distract her, but our sensei arrived and she was not able to answer me.
---------------
During lunch Mirai, Jingi, Shougo, Mariya Suzuka and I ate together in one table. Some of us were co-stars in dramas so we felt comfortable around each other. We chatted whilst eating our lunch. When the warning bell rang we just finished eating. The girls went to the rest room to freshen up and we headed back to the classroom. I saw the trio chatting, Yamada can surely smile when he is with his friends, why can’t he smile when Mirai talked to him.
“Yo” I mumbled as I passed by his seat.
He smiled and replied “Hisashiburi Kamiki-kun!Genki desu ka?” he asked still smiling.
I gave him a puzzled look which he seems to disregard. “Genki desu, You?” I asked.
“Genki, genki” he chuckled. Then I returned to my seat, wondering why Yamada seems to be free-spirited towards me.
When Mariya, Suzuka and Mirai entered the room, I noticed Chinen nudged Yamada and Nakajima and shot them a meaningful look. Mariya smiled as he passed by the trio’s seat, while Mirai just bowed her head as if she’s so intent on clearly seeing the path she’s walking on. Suzuka on the other hand had a blank expression on her face, completely ignoring Nakajima’s intense gaze.

It’s dismissal and Mirai and I are the monitors for the day so we stayed behind and started cleaning. I glanced at her direction as she was erasing the writings on the board. She seemed quiet, not even pausing to talk to me while cleaning. I want to liven her mood a bit so I crack a joke.
“Ne Mi-chan, a baby centipede whispered to a mother centipede then the mother centipede fainted, why do you think it fainted?” I asked trying to keep a straight face.
“Eh? I have no idea” she answered innocently.
“Because it said, mom can you buy me slippers, it should be Havaianas okay?” I jested and thankfully I heard her chuckle.
“Hahaha, Miki-kun baka!” she chortled and continued cleaning.
After we finished cleaning we headed home. We parted at the bus station since I will be riding the bus. She waved goodbye as she walked towards the train station where she will be commuting. I gazed at her retreating figure. I’m a bit worried because Mirai seems sad after the incident with Yamada-kun. I was thinking of a way on how to cheer her up,but I was interrupted by the arrival of the bus.
----------------
The next day I came to school early, I held on to a letter that I wrote for Mirai, It’s my way to anonymously make her feel better, I hope this letter could convey my words of encouragement to her, because I would prefer seeing her playful self than the indifferent one. I slipped the letter in her locker making sure that no one saw me, then I went straight to our classroom.
