To Hell with Harry Potter
I had absolutely no idea they were making a movie based on Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials. It's due out in December - why was I not notified? I loved every one of those books, from their mature outlook on morality to their vicious indictments of organized religion. I worry about how much of that tone is going to survive the transition to the silver screen, but I'm probably just being paranoid. Angels and daemons, and armored bears, oh my!
Oh, and since just about everyone who reads the book wonders what their daemon would be, I went ahead and did their online 'daemon test.' I know I usually don't geek out about stuff or post dumb surveys on my blog, but this if there's ever an exception, this is it. Meet Aeschylus! :D
