On with the Show
It's really kind of amazing how well things have been going at work. The other day my boss pulled me aside and expressed his amazement at the sheer quantity of work that I've been getting done. Apparently I'm days, if not weeks ahead of the rest of the group. And here I was worried that the minutiae of coming out at work was having a negative effect how much I was getting done.
My coworkers have been really cool about things. Sure, I got my fair share of weird looks that first week, but honestly, it's not like that was anything new. Now that the novelty is gone, though, it's no big deal. Everyone gets my name and pronouns right, we chat in the halls like nothing's different, heck, one guy has even started calling me 'Miss Hayley.' How cool is that?
