I've already single handedly irrefutably countered all arguments for not taxing churches (except the idealist argument of "because god" which is BS).
Churches legislate and lobby, even though they aren't supposed to, we subsidize them, even though we aren't supposed to (and pissed about that, because we really shouldn't, plus I hate fundamentalism on principle) and they gain billions in profits, have prime real estate and are allowed to sexually molest children legally.

The free exercise of religion guaranteed by the first amendment DOES NOT COST MONEY, NOT NOW, NOT EVER. You don't need a bible or a church or even a preacher to pray to god/other. If you want to go and buy an invisible bundle of enhanced religion powered by the almighty dollar you are making a fucking business transaction and it should be taxed... and further, as long as religions are going to be lobbying that gays are not full citizens with equal rights, then gays shouldn't have to pay taxes, or at least not all of them. If gays are 3/5 of a person, like blacks were during slave times (second class citizens) then how about they get taxed 3/5's ?
