Saw the dentist today. Really nice dental office. Nice staff too. Got my teeth inspected & cleaned. Turns out I have like 10 cavities. Not major cavities(they don't bother me), but it'll be good to get them taken care of. Also the source of the pain in the back of my mouth is indeed one of my wisdom teeth. All four will need to be pulled out. They showed me high-tech pictures of the damage. Almost half of the tooth is missing & a lot of it is black and icky looking. So I got my teeth cleaned & I just need to figure out where I am getting the $190 to pay my share of the tooth pulling experience(my insurance pays 80%). Probably won't be able to get it done for another two weeks or so. Luckily this tooth is not a constant source of pain, but when it acts up it's very annoying.
Along with that I need to get a crown on one of my teeth & a crown replaced(I already have one). So yeah it looks like this:
4 teeth to be pulled
2 crowns to be placed
10 cavities to be filled.
Total bill:$3200
Luckily my insurance will cover $1000 this year & then another $1000 next year. So the priority is to get my teeth yanked & then the new crown since my old filling is cracking the tooth. Then the cavities filled up. Then replace the old crown. The time & money to do all this wll be hard, even harder since I am still on my recovery streak from the horrid gastroparesis(still going strong!).
Which speaking of that my tummy has felt a bit wonky the last few days. But I've still been eating. Still been feeling hungry. I have this fear I'll wake up and not be hungry again. I really like being hungry & eating when I am hungry. It's like a little piece of joy. A little bit o' comfort, that yes my stomach is working.
My current plan is to stay on Zelnorm for another month. Once this refill is about to run out I am going to try & reduce my dosage/not take it. I'll talk with my GI doc about it too first, see what he says. Zelnorm can do bad stuff or it can overstimulate the lower gut. So I don't want to hurt myself by taking it more than I need too. Also it would be nice to get off the Prozac. Tired of taking pills. Constant reminder of my illness...
Alas! Still things are good. I had Pad-Kee-Maw(thai noddle dish) for dinner tonight. Spring rolls. Along with two large glasses of spiced apple juice & some lady finger cookies. So... Yeah, damn that's actually quite a bit. I am doing better indeed. I hope it stays that way...
