The train just started it's short trip back to Seattle WA from Portland OR. I shall miss this city. It is so vibrant, different, weird, extraordinary, and fun. Our hotel room was fantastic, it must have had just about as many square feet as the main floor of our bungalow back in Ottawa (which was small). There was a wonderfully deep, two person jetted tub that I made sure I used as much as possible, the bed was a king so there was extra sleep room which is always appreciated, and the couches/settees were extremely comfortable. All hail The Vintage Plaza Hotel by Kimpton!

Our "mini break" consisted of a long and semi-successful trip to Powell's Bookstore, which is the largest bookstore in North America, a Trail Blazers/Raptors game, VooDoo Doughnuts extravaganza, and a delicious meal @ Jake's Famous Crawfish Restaurant where they gave me so many king crab legs that I couldn't eat it all.

Tomorrow I go back to eating healthy, all this starch and sugar has overloaded my system and I don't think I'll be able to even think of a donut for quite a while.

I had a list of books (Wish List on amazon.com) and I was able to find only one of them @ Powell's Bookstore. I had been hoping to find more since there is no sales tax in Portland and every penny saved is a penny towards Hawaii, right?

Today we had a little while to wonder around so I did a little bit of shopping @ Macy's and Ross Dress for Less. Who could possibly be adverse to $6 tops? Not me!

We're on our way home now and since we don't have a power supply for the the laptop (extra $15 each for a seat in "business" which offers plugs for laptops, which I figured was kind of a waste of money, so I'm going to end this post and come back after I'm home.

ps: True Blood Season 3 starts on June 13, 2010!!! Make sure you mark your calendars!
