OY. What a week.

Busy, busy packing anstuff.
Friday was the worst day in recent memory.

Got ALL dressed up, went to leave for work ... flat tire.
I'm talking ALL the way flat.
Couldn't find my jack.
Couldn't figure out how to work the hydraulic floor jack in the garage.
Couldn't get in touch with anybody to come help me.
Finally had the bright idea to check in my owner's manual, and VOILA! it showed me where my jack is hidden. Sneaky bastards.
Changed into grubby clothes, put on the spare tire all by myself. Word.
Went back inside, and Briscoe had thrown up twice. Whatthehell?
Spare tire didn't have the recommended amount of pressure, so I went to put air in it. The closest gas station doesn't HAVE an air pump. Motherfuckers. Second try was a success.
Took 45 minutes to get to the tire place because I couldn't drive on the highways because I couldn't drive over 50 on the spare. LAME.
They came back and told me that the sidewall was punctured, so they couldn't repair it, and I had to get a new tire. So, basically, I had to get TWO new tires or my car would have been out of balance.
Tire replacement: 1 hour, $200

It is now 1:00.
Went to my office at school to check email, etc., and try to get the last files from my computers.
The disk took forever to write, but it was finished, I went to eject it, told it to close the disk so a normal CD-ROM could read it ... blue screen of death.
Mother. Fucker.

It is now 2:30.
Went home to pick up Riley for his vet appointment, and Briscoe had vomited 4 more times, only now it was all bile. Lovely.
Let them outside, Briscoe puked some more. Jeebus.
So of course I took Briscoe to the vet instead of Riley, who was just going for his annual check-up/vaccinations.
Briscoe proceeds to throw up twice in the waiting room.
And at least six more times in the exam room.
He got an anti-emetic injection, and blood drawn. He had x-rays taken.
Nothing showed up that should have been causing him to be so sick.
We went home with his history, blood work results, x-rays (in case we had to take him to the emergency vet over the weekend), some bland canned dog food for him to try to eat, and a prescription for an oral anti-emetic.
Vet appointment: 2 hours, $200.

I was so worried about him that night, and all the next day, but he seems to be eating and drinking fine, and he hasn't thrown up since we left the vet's office. However, she did see something odd on the x-rays that may or may not be bladder stones. So, I had to collect a urine sample (don't ask) and I'm going to drop that off when I return the x-rays today. If it turns out to be a stone (or stoneS, as the case may be), they'll have to be removed surgically. Poor little guy!

The rest of the weekend wasn't so bad.
Did laundry, ironed, packed. A lot.
Went out for dinner and a movie (Shrek 2) on Saturday night. It was funny, although I'm not sure it was as funny as the first one. I was laughing hysterically at points, but only certain points - actually, I think it was only the scenes with Puss in Boots. Antonio Banderas was hilarious.
More laundry, ironing, and packing.
Read a lot of A Prayer for Owen Meany - I'll probably finish it this week. So good.

Going out to lunch with some people from work today, volleyball (and beer) tonight, and then people from work AND school want to go out tomorrow night, so I'm not sure how that's going to work. I wouldn't have had this problem, but everyone cancelled on me on Friday night, which was just as well since I just wanted to stay home and take care of Briscoe. AND I still need to go out with Rondah before I leave.

I'm running out of days.
:(
