Goodbye, my ol' trusty horn. You have made so much music with me, traveled through Europe, FSU, Israel, North America, you have accompanied me wherever I would go, 99.99% of time. You remember my "past life" and you have helped me to explore my new life in a new land. After 15 happy years together someone else is picking you up from me today. I hope you will keep helping make people happy as you did it for me.
I own quite a few musical instruments but I am somewhat sentimental only about this one. I wish I could have both my new Selmer (that I do love) and this Festival, too. Unfortunately I cannot justify or afford keeping two similar premium clarinets with a small kid in the family, and still I need to buy an Eb piccolo clarinet for theater work soon. I hope that work will come through next year (and hopefully not one- year and/or show).
Now, these two moments reflected in photographs: when I just acquired my Buffet Festival in the Netherlands (10/1999) and the day I am letting it go, Dec 27, 2014. I hope my new Selmer will have me feel sentimental about it, too.
