[Lyn has been slow to get over the droning of Molly and Legault in rapid succession, but he finally seems to be emerging from the funk he hadn't entirely been aware he'd slipped into. At least, he's starting to take an interest in life again...although what rapidly sets in after that is boredom. Mayfield never handed him a job - possibly

Oh! Mr. Lyn!
[Head-rubs are necessary! ...No this is still not weird he does this with coyote!Aaron too so it's totally fine.]

Well, having been a dog for Lucas, he's not sure if he's meant to stay as one or not for the boy's sake - and if so, for how long. So he gives Lucas an inquiring tilt of his head, ears cocked.]

...OK, I'm done. Um. You can go back if you want, but we can talk either way, anyway.

[Lucas thinks back a little bit.]
...Maybe it was before. I guess I talk to animals so much, anyway, that it doesn't really matter if I hear them in words or not.

It's up to you. You don't have to do anything you don't care to.

Like I said, I don't mind being a dog. It gets me free food sometimes, and nobody looks too hard at me 'cause I just seem like a normal dog. I can get away with pretty much anything. [His stubby tail wags slightly at this. He clearly enjoys the freedom.]

Animals have it a lot easier than humans do, huh? You don't have go to work or school or anything, and if you're cute, people will feed you and love you even if they've never even seen you before.
[Lyn gets a head pat.]

Really?
[He couldn't see Lyn being too convincing as a small child...]
And no one noticed anything? I guess you don't really think of 'demon in disguise' even if you do run into someone strange, though...

Maybe I was a little strange, I dunno. It never got mentioned if anyone noticed, though. They probably figured I was abused or damaged or something. Which wasn't exactly wrong, I guess, just not how they thought.

[Lyn gets another few pets at that.]
You picked up on everything pretty well, then. Language, especially. I don't know what a... demon's accent would sound like - maybe a lot of cursing - but I can't really tell any different.
How did you decide what you wanted to look like for good?

[...actually, maybe Lyn wasn't cocking an ear to give Lucas a look. It might've been to scratch an ear, as he's now doing.] But for fuck's sake, of course I don't have an accent by now. I'm, what, two hundred plus? I was around before America was fucking founded, at least by a couple years. If I still had a demonic accent by now, it'd practically have to be on purpose.
[Lucas' question is actually an interesting one, one he doesn't get often, and he sits up a bit, head tilted thoughtfully.] Well, that was kinda easy. I mean, demons are basically humanoid - head, torso, limbs, ( ... )

Even if that's how things normally are, it doesn't mean it's alright. I don't know about needing pity, but... I don't think sympathy ever hurt anyone.
[He'll try to take care of that itchy ear for you. A hug may slip in in the process.]
...Do you like it? Being human. Not just because it's an easy way to hide from the other demons, but... Just, being human in itself.

Lyn relaxes when Lucas scratches his ear - not having hands is one of the biggest downsides to animal forms - and doesn't try to shake him off when it becomes a hug, either. Not that he needs a hug or anything, but it's kind of nice.]
Oh hell yeah. Being human beats being a demon any day of the week, and twice on weekends. I mean, yeah, I like the immortality and some of the more useful powers of being a demon, but other than that? Humans have everything better.
