[Well, Lyn hasn't had to drink any of the milk; he's pretty much left that up to his sisters, one of whom he barely talks to and the other of whom claims to hate him. He's not exactly comfortable with the arrangement, but he's pretty damn sure he'd be more uncomfortable drinking poison and razor blades, so he's grudgingly accepted it.
But he hadn't exactly expected the arrangement to last this long. Granted, other unpleasant events in Mayfield have lasted as long as this or longer, but having to witness the effects (or at least the aftermath) of Chie or Marisa drinking the milk every morning is starting to take its toll on him mentally. How long is this going to go on? It can't possibly be a fucking perpetual arrangement, can it? Or do they actually have to do something to oust the new police chief and get rid of the deadly dairy regime?
He really, really doesn't like that last possibility. But it might be time to start entertaining the idea.]
[Not filtered in the slightest]
Okay, so how many days have people been getting murdered or dropping dead now? Or choking down razors in their fucking cereal? Four? Five? Has it been enough days for us all to be sick of it yet? Because maybe this shit's going to get dealt with on its own - and you might want to fucking look into that, Mayfield, because I don't know what the hell you want with us but I don't think we're that much goddamn use to you with half of us keeling over every morning - but if it isn't, then we're going to have to actually do something, aren't we? Fuck if I know what, but I don't think we can exactly sit back and let the lunatic pouring poison and spiders into the stuff he's forcing people to drink every morning stay in charge.
Oh, and here's a fun thing to think about. Suppose the town does finally go "oh, shit, maybe this is bad even by our ridiculously shitty standards" and yanks his badge. What then? Who are we going to get instead? Or maybe they'll keep him and just force him to shake up his routine. Whatever's gonna happen next could be worse, as hard as that is to fucking picture, but since when have things ever actually gotten better for us around here? So in between choking down your calcium, people should probably be bracing for whatever's coming after this.
