Yet another song post. *Tales of the Abyss spoilers...kinda*

Been into Tales of the Abyss. I admit. I only got into it since I randomly played Tales of Vs and Radiant Mythology 2 and thought short haired Luke was the CUTEST THING EVER! Oh, and I also watched the anime and had all these motherly feeling going on.

So, I've been randomly prowling Gfaqs looking for song recommendations from the game OST itself. I kept seeing people mentioning what a great track 'meaning of birth' is. The track is used during the final battle between Asch and Luke.

I decided to give it a listen and thought 'oh, just another opening remix'.

But then, after a while... after rewatching THE SCENE at the near end of Abyss when someone died... I decided to listen to the song again.

And then I finally got it.

After cross referencing the lyrics from the actual opening, I finally understood the song. The song itself feels like someone's narrative, a voice actually talking to you, telling a story. You can feel that it's about someone who has come to terms with himself, fighting to prove that he is who he believes he is. He has discovered his meaning of birth so to speak.

The use of two kinds of tones, one light and one slightly deeper, could actually symbolize Luke (light tone) and Asch (deep tone) talking to each other. Both now know what their roles in the story are. Both are trying to prove themselves against each other.

As for Luke, he has finally broken free of being a replica. He is now his own person. And he wants to show this to Asch.

I can't explain this.... but, man... I... I think I love this song. It's the kind of song which makes you tear up in the eye.

When you get to the end of the song.... You also get that.. "Ah, Luke has grown up" feeling. And any person with maternal instincts would then shed a tear....

....but then the worst part is of course what happens after said fight... Which literally made me cry a river.

Assignments + random songs + god knows what makes me all philosophical. Sheesh.
