Pretty Little Liars - Show and Books

I just watched the new Pretty Little Liars episode, and I have to say, I'm glad that show is back. I already liked the last episode before the Halloween special (the special itself... well, I'm not a fan of filler episodes that contribute next to nothing to the storyline, except for that twin sister hint), because it was so thrilling, and I've got ( Read more... )

I think the books and the TV show are regardable pretty seperately. I'm not sure, but I guess so from what I've read so far - they're already very different from each other, and to me the books seems simply like a guideline in the main secrets of the girls and characters. I already know that Mona is A in the books (I accidentally spoiled myself, but oh well), and I can't really imagine that she is A in the TV show, too. It seems to me like the TV A is a lot more specific in their messages and dangerous and has more tricks up their sleeve.
(Maybe I should finish the first four books before wildly assuming things. :D)

Yeah, the situation is what makes the Ian/Spencer thing so weird to me. Obviously he is that attracted to his girlfriend's little sister that he has to react to his sudden urge to kiss her. That's what really weirds me out. :S

Funnily enough, only few chapters after I wrote this, Lucas appeared in the book. :D Seriously, tall and blond? As I said, everybody looks the opposite, it's hard to get used to that. xD Especially after what you've said, I'm curious about what he'll be like. :)

The book Toby - from what he talks and acts like - doesn't seem like a rapist to me, either, but the past is fact - he touched Jenna against her will, and non-con is very simple in my opinion. (In the show it WAS a mutual thing, or did I block something out here?) Maybe he was highly disturbed and that got better/even cured in therapy, but that's as much comfort as I can give myself. Rape or molestation is an unexcusable thing for me, really. I like the solution they found in the show to make Toby (and Jenna) do something scandalous he wouldn't want to get out by any means, but still not rule him out as a likeable character.

And Hunger Games is great! Especially the first book! Highly recommending that :D
