Chasing Rabbits (A Mello/Near FST)

Apr 23, 2009 18:52

Twas about time, wasn´t it? ^_^ Inspired by all the cool people who did the FST/OST meme, I´ve decided to share some of my Mello/Near music with you. I´m afraid I´m not very well-versed when it comes to "hip" music or anything, but it´s from the heart! Some of my choices are probably ironic/sarcastic songs (because I like mood-breaking/ironic soundtracks in general). But then, it´s a very morbid/ironic OTP. ♥

Have fun!

[1]
i´ll break the back of love for you
In The Water (Placebo)

[2]*
and if you go chasing rabbits/and you know you´re going to fall
White Rabbit (Jefferson Airplane)

*Ok, this song is actually about drug use.^^; But despite that, it´s also chock full of Alice In Wonderland references and it always makes me think of Near.

[3]
O Venezia Venaga Venusia (Nino Rota)

[4]
a guy like you should wear a warning
Toxic (Yael Naim)

[5]*
und ich schwöre/ich spür die erschütterung immer noch
Wish (Thomas D. & Franka Potente)

*"Wish," I wish I could translate the German lyrics for you. Because this REALLY is a Mello/Near song to me. Basically, the man in the song calls the girl to Komm zu mir (Come to me) in a very obsessive way and talks about how they could take over the world together ...

[6]
Teardrop (Jose Gonzalez)

[7]
little chicken better run run run
Black Mambo (Madrugada)

[8]
i just want something/i can never have
Something I Can Never Have (Nine Inch Nails)

[9]
do you remember when we met/that was the day/i knew you were my pet
Sea Of Love (Cat Power)

[Bonus]*
now you have to imagine it´s two people/it´s swell when it´s two people
I Can´t Do It Alone (Catherine Zeta Jones)

*This song sticks out like a sore thumb XD I was pondering whether or not to include it. Yes, it´s about sisters. Yes, it´s about revue dancers. But it really does remind me of Mello/Near because it conveys the pain of losing your "other half" very well.

THE WHOLE THING
It´s a ZIP file with all the songs. But it´s a bitch to download, sorry!

music, near, mello, death note
