Sigil FST And Merry Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!

Ok, first things first: 1.) Some of the songs contain the word "girl" in inappropriate moments. I tried to avoid it, but it´s a fact that most lovesongs are not made for two guys, and the rest of the lyrics fit beautifully, so I had to deal. ^^* 2.) Yes, I am obsessed with tv opening themes and music from the sixties. 3.) Yes,a lot of the choices are cracky, BUT I swear that each of them is thoughtful. <3 4.) Yes, I like ironic soundtracks. 5.)Lots of these songs are so obscure I couldn´t even find the lyrics for them online. XD So here´s your huge-ass singalong sheet with all the words typed up by me. ^^

Mello
"Nobody can do the boogaloo like I do."
Nobody But Me
Music

This song is famous for being the most negative Top 40 hit ever. The word "no" is sung over a 100 times, and the word "nobody" around 50 times. Though my favourite Mello song is still "Woke Up This Morning", I love this one because it´s aggressive and upbeat at the same time, like Mello, and we know nobody does it like he does. ^^

Near
Six Feet Under
Music

To me, Thomas Newman´s opening theme for "Six Feet Under" is one of the most beautiful instrumental pieces I have ever heard. It´s fragile and morbid at the same time, which is why it instantly reminds me a lot of Near, and it has a lot of emotion, but not up front. It also takes almost two minutes until it actually kicks in, so you need patience for this. ^^ Picking music for Near was hard.

Matt
"Baby I can´t wait till we start/But the save points are quite far apart."
Xbox Lovesong
Music

Sorry for the crack choice. XD But mocking each other and teasing each other and genereal geekiness play a huge part in the dealings of Mello and Matt in Sigil, and so I chose this. It´s somehow really oblivious and loving at the same time and that suits Matt for me. It´s the live version because I couldn´t get a hold of the album version, if there is one. ^^*

Mello/Near
"All I ever wanted, all I ever needed is here in my arms."
Enjoy The Silence
Music

Yes, it has "girl" in it, and that bugs me, but otherwise it sums up the exhausting struggle for peace and silence within each other so perfectly. It´s obsessive and always a little too intense, like they are. It´s also really happy in a weird way.

"Tell me you love me again/But this time, slowly/Cause you´re talking too fast."
Slowly
Music

I love the tongue-in-cheek kookiness and I couldn´t resist. Becaue this song does make me think of them every time! They are a very eccentric couple. <3

Mello/Matt
"They used to laugh about dying/But deep inside them they knew/That pretty soon they´d be lying beneath the ground together/Pushing up daises to welcome the sun and the morning dew."
The Ballad Of Bonnie And Clyde
Music

That lyric up there? Mello and Matt, totally. A song list for them wouldn´t be complete without a Bonnie and Clyde song, and this is the most casual and laconic one, and I love that feel for them.

"C´mon now honey, bring it on, bring it on yeah/Just remember me when you´re good to go."
We Used To Be Friends
Music

This one is kinda mean, because Mello and Matt in Sigil are actually still friends. But I like the casual playfulness so much for these two.

Ayame
"They may try and sell ya/Cause it hangs them up to see someone like you."
Make Your Own Kind Of Music
Music

When Mello met Ayame for the first time, he took him for some kind of hippie. He later discovered that Ayame was much more than that, but I think the melancholy and lyrics of this hippie song fit him a lot.

Ayame/Mello
"Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right/Here I am stuck in the middle with you."
Stuck In The Middle With You
Music

I don´t know if it´s really the meaning of this song, but it always came across to me as two people making friends over a completely bizarre situation. Which applies to Mello and Ayame, and this song actually gets stuck in my head whenever I think of them.

Rei
"So let me tell you bout my new obsession/I´m riding high up on a big depression."
Only Happy When It Rains
Music

Because she is easily one of the most melancholic characters in Sigil, and this song reminds me of her, especially the eccentric Richard Cheese version!

Light
"You´re old enough to kill, but not for votin´."
Eve Of Destruction
Music

Yeah...it sounds a bit as if it´s sung by a drunken hobo, and it´s a political 70´s song, but this disgust with the world always makes me think of Light, and some of the lyrics are actually pretty smart. It also has this Kira-ish, apocalyptic feel to it.

Light/L
"Hey little devil, everything is gonna be fine."
Little Devil
Music

Laugh all you want, I really LOVE this song for the two of them. It´s one of my favourites in this compilation. I love all the puns on "heartbreak" considering L´s fate, and it works both ways, no matter who sings it to who!

"I used my talents as I could/I done some bad, I done some good/ I did a whole lot better than they thought I would/So c´mon treat me like you should."
Everybody Loves Me, Baby
Music

It´s basically THE Light song for me. Especially in relation to L. Suits the relationship of the new L and Light in Sigil, I think, who actually despises him.

Light/Misa
"She loved her man, but he done her wrong."
Frankie
Music

Great song about mad love. And Misa does love her man, and he does do her wrong. Light´s and Misa´s story doesn´t end like this, but it could. ^^

All of Sigil
"And they´re all made out of ticky tacky and they all look just the same."
Little Boxes
Music

I, er. I hope the jokes translates. ^^* It made a great deal of sense to me.

Aaand a bonus which has zilch to do with Sigil but I´m on a roll and ILU!
