Vampires
To all my fantasy/mystery-inclined friends: do you think it's possible to do a fresh and original take on vampires? Is there any way they could be revived (pun intended) without using the same tropes over and over? Or are these tropes necessary to make them work? What's the most interesting/unusual/fun interpretation of vampires you've seen in books, movies or TV?
I've been thinking about it, and the best thing I could come up with was "From Dusk Till Dawn" because at least that was some crazy fun.
