My Very First MMORPG!

I've started playing my first MMORPG (because I totally have time for that *cough* *cough*), and of course it's Batman. Well, almost. It's DC Universe Online, which is surprisingly obscure for something that's made by Warner Bros and DC. I'm not even sure the Playstation Network knows that it exists, because the servers crash constantly. But I like it a lot, so even if it may seem as if I got paid by someone to write this or something, I'll ramble about it!

You can't play any of the famous heroes (naturally, or else everyone would want to), but you can interact with them, and the game really has ALL OF THEM. You create your own character, which is super-neat because you can pick your looks, weapons and superpowers, and if you want to, you can FLY! (The flying is really really fun even though you're not very fast. Nothing like hovering away from a foe REAL SLOW while they shoot at you XD) You can be either a hero or a villain, and you choose a mentor that's either Batman, Superman or Wonder Woman for the good guys or Joker, Lex Luthor, or Circe for the bad guys. I made a hero and a villain and I don't have to tell you who I chose as mentors. :) Depending on your choice, you're either located in Gotham or Metropolis, but you can visit both cities as well as the Justice League Watchtower and other places.

I've been playing for a while and I really like my villain, who fights with the power of telekinesis and guns, and looks like an extra from Starlight Express. (Not my fault. It's the loot he picked up!) Incidentally, my character is Bela, who I'm also playing as a Sim, because I like to fixate on things. XD

The server is pretty well-populated for a game that nobody has heard of ever. But so far, I have been way too shy to interact with other players. I've even gotten some invitations to join raids or guilds but I just don't like the hassle. That's an aspect of MMORPGs that has always put me off, to be honest, because most of the time I don't even like chatting with people I like. Idk how that part of it will turn out, but right now I really enjoy flying solo. Apart from that, people would probably really regret letting me join, because I'm Lvl 6 and I'm terrible. XD

I wish I could post some pictures but I haven't figured out how yet. But, anyway. MMORPG. Fun. New ways to procrastinate. W00t!

games, fangirl bliss
