So, remember the fit I threw about my Evidence class curve being set to such a low median? Well I complained, and complained again, and then some others complained, and then I confronted the Dean about it at the Dean's Forum, and then others started asking him questions too, and now after 2 months we got this announcement yesterday:
===================================
TO: Law Students
FROM: Dean Scott Altman
DATE: March 4, 2005
SUBJECT: Fall 2004 Evidence
Several students requested that the administration reconsider the mandated median in Professor Campbell’s Evidence class from last semester. That median was set at 3.0 based on our rule of targeting class medians at the mean GPA of students taking the class for a grade. We conducted a review and have concluded that it is appropriate to raise the target median to 3.2. In addition, to avoid future problems, we have decided that Professor Campbell’s fall Evidence class will always have a target median no lower than 3.2.
Students who were enrolled in the class will receive a letter that explains how their grade will be adjusted and when the new grade will be posted to the University transcript system.
