So far so good

Christmas gone by and exams are over. Results were due to be announced today but somehow the system does not like post graduate students. They happily take our fees but including us onto the databases has never been their strong point.

I recovered from my Pre-Christmas-work-mischiefs...
First I left the my left hand between dough boxes, resulting in a crack of the left ring finger. I just got my hand out of the splint when, about a week later, I left the same hand between dough boxes... this time bruising my index finger.
I work the perfect job for someone who can't prepare food without getting injured.

Peadar was here for Christmas. For a far too short two weeks visit.
He came the 20th anniversary of Lockerby. He had a rather good trip but he was among the many not to make this connection.

Sarah, Rob and Bethan came over from England. They were delayed a few days because Bethan got the chicken pocks just a few days prior to Christmas. And for some reason the Airline would not let Bethan board a plane.
But Bethan has grown tall. She reaches up to my hips... and she will have outgrown me by the age of 8.

I got  a lot of nice prezzies; among many a lovely pendant with an amethist from Korea, batting gloves, a lizzard, which moved in on my dash board already and a paper model of the government building of the German Democratic Republic; scale 1:800

New Years eve was a good old house party... and a lot of alcohol. Met Paula and Dan again... and others I recall and new people...
I was so hung-over New Year's Day.

And I wrote another essay for Peadar's classes. "Why Korea should never reunite"
Not only was it the most difficult topic he could come up with but inner Korean (or inner South Korean) politics made that even harder. I was tip-toeing around certain words, not making any statement for over 900 words out of around 1000...
It is also the topic, some individual students may agree with me. He has to be prepared for that. He has to have some task for them to carry out.
The next one will be down the line of "Why Korea was better off as a Japanese Colony". Simple facts and a bit of leaving out one or two little notes... but not as emotional as the whole issue of reunification.

Well, college break is almost over.
I kept myself busy enough.
I was in Athlone again last week. Gerry and me started setting up communications for the new office. I found myself crawling through the attic, running cables.
I started the weekend with my first experience in sword fighting. I think I need a bit of a more personal instruction to it (and I think I was holding the sword wrong to start with)...
I was back in Limerick Saturday evening, 15 minutes before the snow. I only went into work because I got a call whether I could work Sunday. When I came in, I ended up working, from 9pm. The latest start ever. We had 3 days of snow in a row. I have rarely seen snow in Limerick to start with. I have never seen three consecutive days with snow in Ireland... no matter where.

Well. I just found out my Sis is pregnant.
I am working on a prezzy for my niece now. The standard cuddly animal in the family: a stuffed snake... I am about 1/3 through the planed length.
With Kira being taller than me and Roman being much taller than her again... that child will be as tall as Bethan soon.

And because I am not busy enough...
I was doing Occupational First Aid just before Christmas and Right now doing CFR. I am banned from answering questions and ended up co-training people. My first teaching experience and I haven't gotten any instructor training yet.
We remember I am technically taking part in the course.

I probably forgot half of everything...
But this would be it for now...

Oh yes, I will be going to a medieval feast in Shinrone early February.
