I just got into an argument with someone at work who I actually like. I'm actually pissed about it. Because I felt like she was judging one of my friends.
My work friend : So she didn't raise any money for the walk other than what you donated to her.
Me: She just moved home, is living off one income, and has two kids under 2. I feel like I can't ask her to.
WF: lol she can't ask 2 people?
WF: I feel like there should be a minimum per walker. I'm actually surprised there isn't
Me: This is a community walk, if they did that, they would get far less donations. The walkers are schools, adults, families, coworkers. If you limited the walkers to a min. you'd have less people and less overall donations.
Me: 1) she still brings to the table one donations
2) it doesn't cost more than 2 dollars for them because everything is donated
WF: Whatever I don't want to argue.
Whatever...is a word that pisses me off to no extent. I can imagine eye rolling and someone who just knows they are right when she is clearly not. I mean...all of the staff for the walk are volunteers, food/water is donated.....cops have to be provided no matter what. If i hear whatever..i pretty much turn you off...
ARG. I'm so angry ....not everyone walking has an unlimited amount of donors they can ask for money. Alot of walkers are even people who benefit from the walk. I hate when people are "community givers" but they don't understand the community. They do things for the greater good but don't know who or how they are benefiting...they just want to sleep better at night. Also...I've had an easy life...so has my work friend...and some people don't have that much luck. Raising money is great when you have the time..but when you have a new born and a toddler running around...you are lucky to brush your teeth. Please don't judge my friends when you've never walked in their shoes...because if you do...you are pretty much dead to me.
ARGGG>> for real.i'm pissed
