From the little we see of Jack in the show, I think he's got more in common with his father than either of them realize.

Bullet-hit Longcoats, but the next section explains why they don't know yet.

Lavender Eyes is Ahamo's nickname for Galinda, as was Ahamo her nickname for him. Got all the way to Chapter Thirteen of Dragons and Ninjas and could not call her Lavender Eyes without spoiling the whole mood of the chapter. It's been that way ever since.
