The Cape

Store Clerk: "You're a superhero; what they call you?"
Vince: "The Cape."
Store Clerk: Pauses. "You work on that."
If you missed the two-hour premier last night, NBC is showing The Cape again tonight 8pm Central before the regular Monday night hour long shows start next week. And as I checked on Internet Movie Database for spelling, it looks like ( Read more... )

Actually, The Cape comic book was created for the series. Its' first issues was released on iPad a few days before as part of the advertising :) So there's no problem with that. It wasn't around before the show :) Anyways, it's like the Castle tie in books.

Yes, I really enjoyed last night's 2 hour premiere and I am definitely going to be watching it again. I like how they mixed the dramatic bits without being too melodramatic, and the comedy included worked well. Keith David's Max is just awesome (I thought that was it!) In fact, love the whole Carnival of Crime idea. Chess/Fleming is just plain creepy, I'm looking forward to seeing more of what his vision/gameplan is. And Vince. Oh, heartbreaking for his backstory. (and so many holes in that framejob it's a good thing ARK owns the police...)

My first thought of Orwell is that she's Eyes Only or Oracle. Exactly what Vince needs really. Her backstory's going to be interesting I think. Also like that Summer Glau isn't doing a kickass and taking names character. Sure, Orwell can defend herself.. but the fight with her and Cain... she was no Terminator/River, thank god.

It feels like a throwback to comic book superheroes before everything went all dirty and gritty and Batman/Dark Knightish. Like the first Batman movie with Michael Keaton.

I definitely want more now. And I'm so glad it's Mondays at 8C. I can watch it between HIMYM and Castle and be happy it's not conflicting.

I need an icon for this show. It's so my new fandom <3

oh, and editted cause I realized I had a comma in the wrong place and I hate the it's/its' mistake.

It wasn't around before the show :) Anyways, it's like the Castle tie in books. -- I meant the comic book as it was shown in the show, not what we can buy. What Vince has done would be someone becoming Batman in the real world. Publishers and the writer of the comic book would have something to say about that, and a lot of it negative.

The comedy was done really well, considering how outrageous the idea of a masked vigilante is. I was torn on quoting the above exchange or the "But you're not wearing a cape" bit.

I agree Orwell's function is more Oracle. But Spoiler became a hero to "spoil" her father's crime sprees, and I can see that in play.

I definitely want more now. And I'm so glad it's Mondays at 8C. I can watch it between HIMYM and Castle and be happy it's not conflicting. -- Serious huzzahs for no conflicts. That pleasantly surprised me. Now hopefully Autotune will work between NBC and ABC. It didn't work last week and I got a whole hour of the Weather Channel instead of Castle. *Groan*

Ah, I didn't even think of that. Of course there's a "creator in the world of The Cape*. That would be interesting to see.

Yeah, the But you're not wearing a cape bit was awesome. I still love Max's "deathscene" too. "I wanted my last words to be something profound."

True.. kinda a combo of the two characters I bet. There's definitely some link between her and Chess/Fleming.. and damn, that car, that tech setup.. there's some cash there. *pets the pretty car*

Hah, autotune obviously decided you needed to the weather pretty badly.
