Kindy time

Apr 10, 2010 09:50

Long time, no update but I had to note this down. As of Thursday, Znerkie is officially in at the French Immersion school of choice and is scheduled to do kindy in mornings!

Hoorah! For me that is, it means daddy will take Znerkie to school with him in the mornings and I can hopefully get Anerklette into some toddler classes (gym, swimming etc) without finding carers to mind Z. On one level it is so enciting (sic) to have a big guy all ready for kindy and starting on his journey for the next (hopefully) 13 years and beyond, I will relish the time to enjoy my baby girl - no longer a 'baby' actually - one on one for extended periods yet on another level kindy has come around so very fast and I am nervous that my little guy will be heading into an environment that I have very little input in and I will miss out on big parts of his development. In essence, am I really ready to let go? He has been doing kinderprep this year for one afternoon a week, and has 2 afternoons at a pre-school class so we are confident he will be fine at kindy, especially as I've seen him through the windows when he didn't know I was there and I could see how helpful he was and how much fun he has.

Since only private schools here have uniforms we are missing out on the aussie tradition of buying the new school uniform at the start of the year. I have bought him school clothes already though. Funnily enough, light grey trousers and a grey and bottle green striped jumper were the first items we got....

Must go, Anerklette is ready for some mummy love, Znerkie wants me to play tent and Marathon Man is due home soon
