The article from the African American magazine had me thinking a lot about our love for Bill. Of course, there are a few who believe that anyone who thinks Bill Clinton is the first Black President --are completely and utterly insane. Bill is a white man-always will be. The reasons that he is considered 'black' would be his trysts with the portly, black-haired woman, where he was born, and the fact that he played the saxophone. His cheating on his wife makes him a negro? That angers me...
I actually enjoy spending time with white people, but there is that atmosphere about us when we are speaking to one another. We must watch what we say and we must watch how we are perceived.
No offending jokes.
No offending references.
There is always that one question that whites ask:
If you guys can call each other/say the word nigger, why can't we?
Here are a few reasons...
1_Slavery has always and will always be a tender wound for the black community and that is where the word took it's meaning. It's degrading and humiliating when a white person calls a black person a 'nigger', it will not-and should not be tolerated.
2_I do understand the confusion when one claims "you guys say it to each other all of the time." Yes I know, and I hate it. African Americans have been 'hood-winked, led-astray, bamboozled.' and we talk to each other in that horrifying manner. It's terrible.
3_Gansta, ghetto, hood etc. whites are annoying. You're not from any 'hood' you do not belong to any gang. So please, when swearing about something, do not say, "ON MY HOOD, NIGGA. ON MY HOOD!"
No, no, no...
Never.
I suppose the intent of the person would make a big significance.... I'm feeling lazy so that is how far I will take this.
