Takk for sist
Nov 21, 2014 21:17
“Takk for sist” literally means “thanks for last time” so basically I guess it`s the equivalent of “nice to see you again” but has a somewhat broader meaning as it can also mean thank you for your hospitality the last time we met, or thank you for coming to my house last time we met, or even thanks for that fleeting introduction we had in the street one day - all in those three short words! So whether you originally met the person at a dinner party three years ago, or whether you had a drink with them last Friday, the correct thing to say on seeing them again is “Takk for sist”. Norwegians themselves do seem to have the most amazing powers of recollection too, so it`s nice if you can get this rig
