TECH: iPod Genius feature and MusicIP Mixer

Sep 10, 2008 11:43

From the C|Net first look article, "Using the Genius feature, you can take a single song from your collection and create an instant playlist of 25 songs that share similar musical characteristics."  AAAAAAAGGGGGG! I've been enjoying (and singing the praises of) the MusicIP Mixer for years.  It does an amazing job of this very thing, and I've always evangelized it and had a secret wish that a major company (a la Apple) would do a licensing thing with them to make it official instead of just a plug-in and rocket this amazing software to the mainstream.  But from what I can tell, Apple developed this in-house.  What does this mean for MusicIP?  I don't know, but I still love it.

Sun has a neat Blog post about the new Genius feature called How smart *is* the Genius?
