Dearest Carolyn,

My apologies if I struck a nerve or two in my last letter. It certainly wasn't my intention! Not at all!

You see, after I sent you the first letter, I began to wonder as to the skull. I thought it was a very befitting present. After all, it does carry a great deal of sentiment to me, so I thought you could appreciate the fine object that it is. He was my very first victim after all! I'm ever so proud of it.

But if you don't understand, then I guess I was a bit misled by you. I would have thought you'd be understanding or brave enough to comprehend what it was I was attempting to tell you.

Sometimes, words just aren't enough.

Your last letter seemed to be a bit on the trite scale but at least now I know that you're receiving my mail/packages. I'm very pleased about that!!

Oh, oh! Guess what! I won a red shiny car! I decided to try my luck at the roulette table and what do you know?? I won! Of course, at that point, I had soooo many chips that I could just put them anywhere and physics be damned!

However, I don't really need the shiny red car. I've already got a bike and Alex got me this lovely BMW which means more to me than the shiny red car ever could. So, when I get back, I shall give you the car. Will that be a suitable gift??

I'm sure we'll have much to talk about! I can't wait to tell you all about my vacation and the fun I've been having. I met a woman the other day who reminded me of you. Only she wasn't really like you. She didn't look like you. But she did have your attitude when you first ran into me. Kind, gentle, almost loving...

I like that.

But, unfortunately, this is Vegas and she was just interested in one thing. I HATE false shows of emotion, don't you? I think I did the world a favour. She tasted a bit on the off side, not at all how you would taste! So please, please don't think that I would think that you'd taste bad at all!

And, when I get back, you can tell me all about your adventures in Luxembourg! What do you think of the city? Have you met Detective Wolf yet? He's a friend of mine and a very nice man. He'll help you out if you give him a doughnut or two! Oh, oh! And there's always Herr Blusen's! Do you like schnitzel? I used to like it, back when I was a child, but there was far too much to eat of it and I soon grew weary of the food. However, Herr Blusen has never ceased to be friendly to me!

There are so many other people you should meet! It's a very friendly city. I think it'll be a bit sad to have to leave it behind...

Have you been to the castle yet? You didn't go into my room, did you???? I hope not. It's very private. Here's hoping you didn't touch the small wires on the nightstand. But then, if you did, I wouldn't be able to write to you! I'd have to put you together again! With sticky glue!

Have you met Sophie? I hope you're taking care of her. She's a very needy person, but you're the patient type, right? You'll be good to her.

Enclosed in this letter is another trinket. Don't worry! It's not a skull this time! It's a token! It's the chip that was on the winning number in the roulette game so I think it'll bring you good luck. I made a little hole in the top of it and put it on a gold chain. Not silver, because silver is a bit cheap looking, but real gold. It'll bring you good luck and I think women like getting jewelry, right?

Anyway, I should go. We're having cocktails in an hour or two!

Wish you were here!

Love,
KVH
