Royalty. Hmph. They're always late, they're always so very condescending to others and I do hope that this supposed 'Count' is royalty. For I'd accept nothing less to keep me waiting out here for...*check watch* Three whole minutes!

*rings the buzzer again with the tip of his cane*

*door is soon opened by one of the zombies*

Ah. Greetings, my fine mute friend! I'm here for a business engagement. No, it's quite alright. I'll let myself in. *goes inside, sheds his coat and hands it to the zombie* No, I'll be keeping my cane, thank you. Where, pray tell, is your Master? There wasn't an appointment made, but I do think he should be expecting me nonetheless.

*hands the zombie his business card, bone-white with gold lettering* Do be careful of that. That's real gold. Not the caret, but the swiss type. Not that you'd know the difference, of course. I do hope you serve drinks here. It's been a long fly and I'd very much appreciate a dry martini.

*zombie walks away*

...He'd better be back soon. *glances around the place, taking in the

*is immediately aware of a strange presence in his castle, as well as Sophie and Klaus, attends to the stranger first*

Good evening. *looks him over, taking him in, and quite likes what he sees* You must be the emmissary of the Dark Lord's. Do come in. *holds out his hand* Count Dracula. You may call me Vlad.

*smiles and shakes Vlad's extended hand* Delighted to meet you in person. I am the Dark Lord's envoy, Lucius Malfoy. It's an honour to meet the, as he puts it, Lord of the Undead. Vampires are generally looked down upon by the wizarding kind, but then they're not as well-mannered, vocal, or charming as your kind appear to be.

While there have always been separate types of vampires, it's most reassuring to know that there is one who rules them all. *smirk* I do hope I'm not intruding at a busy time. My Lord tells me you're in the process of changing.

*takes in Lucard from how shiny his shoes are to how neatly styled his hair is; eyeing the wardrobe appreciatively, and his features all the more so; quite likes the entire combination*

*leads Lucius into a comfortable living room - not the every day one he uses with Klaus, but a more upscale one with a wetbar*

Indeed I am. It's time to shed this persona and move onto the next one. Though it's difficult to be a prominent figurehead while maintaining immortality, I find it a challenge.

*takes out some things for a martini, figuring Lucius is NOT the scotch type* Care for a drink while we discuss business?

*sweeps his robes out and gracefully takes a seat* Dry martini, s'il vous plait. I requested one from your undead butler before but I think he left with my coat to bury it.

*gets out his files, making sure to lay them out nice and organized* Times have changed since his first war. We have the upperhand once again and there are only two that still fully stand in our way. However, we fully expect to be rid of them soon and the world will be changing for the better.

*cane leaning against the arm of the couch* By shedding to you mean literally or metaphorically? Forgive my curiosity, but I do work under one who truly does...shed. *reclines back, supremely confident in both his looks and his organization skills*

Metaphorically. I'll keep the same skin this time. I rather like this form. *mixes two martinis, very dry, hands Lucius one and sits across from him, leaning back, legs crossed* I've not had company of your pedigree in some time.

*looks over the files, picks one up and starts flipping through the documents* Very organized. I suppose I'll need to start signing some of these soon.

*takes the offered martini* Thank you. *smirk broadens* I take it you don't find yourself entertaining too many Pureblood wizards these days? A shame. They'd enjoy your company, I would think.

*glances down at the files* Your conditins are also in order. Once we have control, you'll get Romania, Luxembourg, and Turkey. Though why you would want Turkey is beyond me. You also put in an order for an upper region of Canada as well. I'm hoping I'd be able to interest you in another piece of fine real estate. It's close to Canada and once it has been cleared of Muggles, I've no doubt that the land will go for much should you decide to sell any part of it. Mountains, forests, beaches, you name it, this country has it. I'd like to offer it to you for a very low fee."

*raises an eyebrow* You have an elegant tone, Monsieur Malfoy. No wonder the Dark Lord chose you to be his voice. However, I've lived a long time and I am not that easily fooled. I've no desire to purchase the American wasteland known as the United States.

*sips his martini, utterly relaxed in Lucius' presence*

*smirk vanishes* Oh, come now. I'm saying once the Muggles have been cleared off. True, it's a bit of a, ah, fixer-upper. But it's still a prime piece of real estate. It has swamps and wonderful areas to make movies.

*ponders* Are there any parts of the place you're partial to that pique your interest, at least? We'd be willing to split the place up.

xanderlucard April 26 2005, 18:45:55 UTC
No.

I would pay you to keep it, Monsieur. *smirking, rather amused by this*

*puts the file down and leans forward, takes another, flipping through it*

I should have my assistant look these over. We'll have the paperwork signed and the cheques written by next Monday.

*sighs and puts away the contract for the USA* Money isn't really the issue. It's more along the lines of we're not precisely sure what to do with the land. But that can be worked out later and isn't your burden.

*reclines back once again* Wonderful. If there is anything else you wish to know, ask, or request, feel free to do so. I've been instructed to answer any inquiries you may have.

*looks up* Not at all. *stands*

Klaus, this is Monsieur Lucius Malfoy, the Dark Lord's envoy. Monsieur Malfoy, this is Klaus Helsing, my personal assistant. *gets Klaus a martini, hands it to him, and sits back down, offering Klaus a seat* We were just talking about you, actually. I have some papers I need you to go over.

lucifer_tiamat April 26 2005, 19:16:50 UTC
*stands* Well, hello, Mr. Helsing. Apparently that old story was true after all. Draculas and Helsings.

It's an honour to meet you. *happily shakes Klaus' hand* The papers are right there for your perusal. Feel free to take your time, no rush. I'd rather get all of this done in one sitting so that we don't have to take up more of your time. *charming smile*

*I'm still his assistant. Good!*

Nice to meet you as well, Mr. Malfoy. *glad that Lucius doesn't seem to be anywhere near as intimidating or frightening as the Dark Lord; has a seat, puts his martini down and sets to going through the papers*

We're buying real estate? *And what real estate!; goes through the fees, the what-ifs, calculates the risks and decides that this is more of a personal transaction for Vlad than anything truly business-related*

What's this? *finds one of the sheets of the contract for the US*

That, my friend, is a deed for the US of A! A prime piece of real estate if ever there was one! Marshes, mountains, beaches, valleys, rivers, everything one could want in an idealized landscape! *hoping that Klaus has never been to the US*

All for the taking! Or, hell, you've talked me into it! I'll even sell it out piece by piece if you so desire! Why? Because I just like feeling generous and I like you two so very much.
