A Series of Unfortunate Events (how original...)

Jun 20, 2006 20:45

I hereby declare last week as the "Week of Misfortune" for soon-to-be obvious reasons:
  • first of all, because summer vacation has officially ended and classes have started. It was difficult saying goodbye to my long hours of internet surfing, leisurely reading, and whatnot. I was still reluctant to face my professors and schoolwork.
  • second, because I have Bob Uy, notorious for giving 'killer' machine exercises and machine problems (and his weird sense of humor...haha), as my professor in EEE 13. On the plus side, I have
manong_kulas, Vincent, Manu, and Thomas as classmates. Yep, misery loves company. My professor in Eng 11 is too (I emphasize that) strict about attendance. My professor in Art Stud 1 gives too many readings (Hello, 86 pages. Hello,
chibi_neko23 who is my classmate in that subject). My Math 54 professor, well, I have yet to find out his secret identity.

  • third, pesky IE (Industrial Engineering) department decided to change the CWTS schedule from Wednesdays 1:00pm - 4:00pm to Wednesdays 9:00am - 12:00pm. I had to go undergo the exhausting change matriculation process because it had a conflict with my schedule in EEE 34, which is Wednesdays 8:30am - 11:30am.

  • fourth, because of that unfortunate change matriculation process, I had to go to different colleges just to plead that they take me into their classes. Hiking from college to college was very exhausting.

  • fifth, congratulations, I just now have the ugliest schedule ever. Even though I didn't really want to, I had no choice but to take a Saturday 9:00am-12:00pm CWTS class (the one being offered in the EEE deparment) because Sir Ali was the only prof who was willing to entertain prerogs. I have classes every single day. Eeew. This means even less time for internet, LJ, and
not_unwounded, and other non-school-related activities. (FYI: Contrary to rumors, CWTS-EnggEEE is not origami class. SIr Ali hasn't discussed the syllabus yet but it seems like we would be doing community service.)

  • sixth, I have almost no breaks in my sched. I always come home tired, hungry, and sleepy. That hasn't happened to me before... or maybe it's because (see below)

  • seventh and to top it all off, I got sick Friday night. (Yes, when I went to school the next day to prerog at a CWTS class, I had high fever.) This fever disrupted my entire study schedule. I haven't gotten completely well yet, but I can't afford to miss my classes, so I go to school anyway. I often ride the jeepney (Ikot/Toki) because I feel nanghihina if and whenever I walk.
I know that I shouldn't complain and that other students have it worse. I'm sorry. I just had to vent. I am very exhausted. I feel ill. I have to wake up early tomorrow. What the heck.

Lord,  no extensions for "week of misfortune." Please and thank you. It's enough that I have to put up with Bob Uy (and the rest of my professors) and my ugly schedule for the whole semester.

I absolutely cannot wait for the semestral break. Hmph.

real life, school
