Oh yeah

Since I don't feel safe posting about this on tumblr, I'll do it here, where comments can be screened and to reduce the risk of abuse via reblogs.

It doesn't take three guesses to see that myself and some friends are planning a Pokemon story group in the vein of the popular PMD ones. This has been worked on since November. We're being pretty thorough figuring the system out, and myself getting all of the needed art prepared, which is A LOT. And there's still a lot to do. We want to try for a late May/early June release, and hopefully this deadline can be reached. Mid-late July is an option too, but I have Anime Expo coming up, so I need to account for that.

Superficial differences between our group and others of this type: it's not directly based off of the PMD games. It's still a world populated by only Pokemon, there's still guilds, but they'll be handled differently. I'd love to go into detail, but I want to keep it a surprise. One of the founders came up with the foundation for this system, and I'm pretty excited about it.

There's also going to be more leniency when it comes to prompts being done late. I dislike how other groups have it where, once a mission ends, that's it. You can't earn the cool prize, or you are only able to earn a fraction of it. People have lives, and people also join late. The main story itself I still want to move at a brisk, steady pace, but those who do stuff late shouldn't be left in the dust.

We really want to try and be member focused, and not have the main story and its characters overshadows the teams. Of course, this is easier said than done. I feel that these PMD groups take their members for granted whether they mean to or not. Hell, it could happen with us, but I hope we can catch that and snip it in the bud.

Anyhow. When this group starts, I hope things go well, and when problems arise, they can be solved relatively smoothly!
