Quote of the Entry:
“Smoking kills. If you’re killed, you’ve lost a very important part of your life.”

Hey everybody. Just checkin’ in with the usual update crap.
So Katherine’s graduation party was fantastic. I saw Kyle and Mary Beth again, that was cool. Movie game in the pool was fun, but even better was the canoeing I and Drew and Bergels did. Oh, and Katherine got a PC for her graduation gift from like… a bazillion people, I don’t even know who all of them were, but still, the look on her face was priceless when she opened it. So good job Kat, now you have a new computer to use at Temple! Woot!
Recently I’ve become addicted to a few songs. They are Rufus Wainwright’s “Hallelujah,” Ben Folds’ “Rockin’ the Suburbs,” and Billy Joel’s “Lullaby.” Weird combo, yeah. Seriously, I’ve been listening to them at least once a day. They are, in fact, good times.
Saw “Cold Mountain” the other night. I dunno what to think… for one, Renee Zellwegger ( spelling?) deserved the Oscar for best supporting actress, because she was really good. But it’s a Civil War movie, based on a Civil War book. And I know that every time you have a Civil War movie, the main characters always have to lose what they care about most, otherwise it’s not a real Civil War movie… you know, the whole “War is terrible and ruins lives, don’t think that the Civil War was a joke.” But really, I’m getting tired of seeing war movie after war movie where the boyfriend and girlfriend don’t get together in the end and live happily ever after. Are you trying to tell me that everyone who goes off to war will have their lives ruined, EVERYONE?
…Not to belittle those whose lives WERE ruined, of course. That definitely stinks, you have my sympathy.
But I want to see one war movie, just one, where the guy fights off the enemies and lives and comes back home to his sweetheart and they’re just so happy that they survived.
If I ever get the chance, I’m going to make a war movie where everyone is happy in the end, except the bad guys, they’re all dead or locked up.
…I’ll probably have to make do with Legomation if I ever want that script to fly. If that was a real movie, the critics would all pan it, saying it didn’t have the proper moral for a war movie, and it wouldn’t do well at the box office.
But still.
On a side note, in all the movies I’ve seen Nicole Kidman in, she’s not able to live happily ever after with her love interest, one of them always dies or just leaves… bad luck, that is.
Okay, time to rant a little bit. I almost never do it, but since there are several factors contributing to this crap that are really out of my control, I’m gonna go for it. Hahah, there’s a good possibility I’ll look back on this later and just laugh…
I NEED to get my license asap. See, then if and when I’m at the house with nothing to do, I can DRIVE myself somewhere else. Anywhere… go to the movies maybe, perhaps go to the mall and mess good-naturedly with the sales clerks, that’s always fun, or maybe just to a park or something… but it will be good times. And no more bumming rides off people, God, that’ll be great. I’m just too fed up with being stuck at the house time and time again. I’ve spent the better part of sixteen summers just being at the house wasting time. Okay, that’s great, but I want to waste time somewhere else. Anywhere else. By myself, if I have to. Just anywhere but here.
Spiderman 2 comes out freakin’ tomorrow. Probably gonna go see that with Drew and Bergels. Yeah, this is an open invitation; if anyone wants to join in, give one of us a call. Yeah, that’s an opportunity to get out of the house, I feel better already.
And Lord of the Risk is this Friday! Hahah, what, a parade that I should be awake for the following morning? Pshaw, screw that, I can sleepwalk. Parades are a few hours, Lord of the Risk is forever.
