Round 1 of the contest is over. Round 2 is about to begin.
So you knew your music. You could recognize lyrics when you saw 'em and you could name the song they came from.
That was Little Leagues.
The way Round 2 works is this. I give you a quote. It can be lyrics from a song or a quote from a movie. If it's lyrics from a song, you have to name the song. If it's a movie quote, you have to name the movie. You only get one guess per quote -- if you guess wrong, that's it for you until the next quote. Wins will be recorded in the AIM Buddy profile; you can check there for the most recent standings in the contest.
There's a bonus, too. If I happen to write lyrics in a song from a movie, you can earn an extra point for guessing both the name of the song AND the movie it came from. This bonus doesn't hold for a song that may happen to be part of the soundtrack for a movie; the song has to play a major part in the movie.
Example: A song like "I'm A Believer" is also featured in the movie Shrek, but you do not get an extra point for telling me that.
A song like "Maria" is from the musical "West Side Story," you'll get a point for naming the song Maria and a point for naming the movie West Side Story.
Basically, the extra point only comes if the song comes from a musical.
