I love that the last thing I wrote on here is "I have decided to start writing again...". That was in July of 2009. What day is it today? Oh yeah...April 2011. Um, well, where to begin?
I do sincerely miss writing and journaling. Every time I come back on here it reminds me of how therapeutic it is, so maybe THIS time I'll start up again. It's not like I don't have time...'cuz I have plenty of that nowadays.
So, the last I wrote, I was attending school at the University of Phoenix, working at Walt Disney World, and basically creating a world of havoc all around me. Yeah, that sounds familiar. Oh how I wish those days had a different outcome...a different impact on who I am. The truth is, everything that I surrounded myself with ultimately pushed me in a new direction. I can't complain about that either, though. I am so happy where I am now. "Where is that", you may ask? I live in Philadelphia now! Boo-yah!
It all started shortly after my last post. VERY shortly. I went on vacation about a week after to Washington; turned out to be one of the most fun and exciting trips of my life. It was a road trip with Eric and Dustin throughout all of Washington State and into parts of Canada. Oh yeah, glorious. See Facebook photo albums for more details. Well I returned from this trip extremely refreshed with a whole new outlook in August. I was pumped about work, and excited about where things would go from there. So what did I do? I interviewed for a new job! That's right, I started to look for other options. The first one that came up...Allegiant Air!
So I applied to be a Flight Attendant, not expecting anything to come up as a result. Low and behold I ended up getting invited to an open-house interview session, which was during my regularly scheduled work day. Just so happens that a coworker needed to switch days off with me, so I ended up being able to drive to Tampa for the interview afterall. Once thing led to another, and October 18th was my last day at Walt Disney World. My theme song: "Defying Gravity" from Wicked. Oh yeah!
I stayed with Allegiant for a little over a year. During my time there, I achieved quite a number of exciting goals. I became an Air Transportation Supervisor, became a legendary flight attendant according to my many repeat flyers (I was "the funny guy"). Yes, I have to admit, I was probably the most fun and exciting flight attendant ever...but flying back and forth to the same small towns got old very quickly. In September I decided that I would attend the CAMI workshop to further my education in the aviation world. With my new knowledge in hand, I started looking elsewhere for bigger and better opportunities. The next opportunity came in December when US Airways posted interviews for Flight Attendants.
Long story-longer, I have been working for them now for a little over 2 months, and I LOVE every minute of it. So far I have flown to 3 different countries, on 3 different continents. I have experienced food and wine that is unbelievable and amazing, and I couldn't be happier. They aren't working us very much, though, so I will have plenty of time to write. I know this has been a Cliffs Notes version of the last 2 years, but now you are caught up, LiveJournal! Love you all, hope to see you again real soon!
