Well, not a whole lot has happened since my last post. Things here are actually pretty good again. The last few months during the holidays was a bit depressing for me. Guest Relations was a fun gig, but it is full of people who are two-faced and could care less about their peers. I'm so glad to have moved on, though I wish I could have experienced the VIP tours and Adventures By Disney. Perhaps that will come later on in my career.
I started my new job as a manager. So far it has also been a bit of a rollercoaster, but not in the same depressing way. This time is has been a journey of self. I have had to overcome many self confidence issues, but am now doing very well. Some days I wonder how the hell I got my job, other days feel more confident and I know why. For those of you who don't know, I am a manager at Disney's Contemporary resort, in charge of 3 quick service restaurant and 1 full service restaurant. Being on the business side of Disney has done wonders for me. It has almost rekindled a sense of pride in working for such a great company. Also, seeing the payoff in all the work I have done leading up to this point has been amazing, not to mention my weekly paycheck :0)
I still LOVE my condo. Liz and I are the most compatible roommates ever. I swear she is the female version of me, lol. Our furniture has started to arrive, and we are slowly but surely getting settled in. Soon we will be painting the walls and having cocktail parties (Thomas, this all reminds me of my time living with you...) This summer I will have a friend living in our loft for a few months, and I am very eager to hang out with him.
Speaking of friends, one of the coolest chicas in the world is coming in about 2 weeks for her first return visit to Orlando since I last saw her on Aug. 13, 2004. It should be good times had by all, and perhaps a little drunk dialing if you all are lucky.
Love life: enough said.
I am really excited for the weather to get nice again. Liz and I have several weekend excursions as well as some longer vacations planned for this year. In a few weeks we are headed to Key West, which I have never been, so it will be an exciting trip for me. Next month, however, we are celebrating my State/Disney walk for management completion by flying to Puerto Rico. Flights from Orlando are extremely cheap, so why not? Abby, you should come, too, just for the heck of it, eh?
Washington peeps, I do miss you still, but come down here and party it up in Whorlando, will ya? It's hella cold there, and I know you all deserve vacations as well.
I think that's about all for now. I'll see you all in a few months...
