I'm waiting on a gel to finish running, and there isn't anyone around to talk to. Which of course means sit around at the computer instead of doing constructive things like homework... This past week was actually kind of fun. On Tuesday Patrick and I went to Qdoba and got ice cream using our free tickets from the video game competition thingy. Then there was an alcohol awareness speaker on Wednesday; she was actually fairly entertaining. I somehow ended up at a mixer on Thursday. I needed to get points, so some of the other volunteers at Special Equestrians helped me to find stuff for a horse-back rider costume about two hours before the mixer. It was at Sigma Nu, which was helpful to me since I actually know a Sigma Nu, Drake. So, I talked to Christine, Emily, Barclee and Drake for a while, then Heather and Apryl made the decision to visit the other houses on the row BEFORE going back to the dorms (I thought we were going straight back). That was actually pretty funny 'cuz of everyone's reactions to Apryl's Dolly Parton costume. Then Claire and I tried to figure out what alcohol some random guy wanted from a bar...
Friday was also interesting. We went to Chuck-E-Cheese's for a required sorority retreat thingy. The pizza was pretty bad, and the little machine characters were a lot different than I remembered, which was kinda sad. But the games were kinda fun. Then Christine and I escaped back to school, and I met up with a couple of my high school friends, Lily and Angela. We ate dinner again with Patrick- I think I ate three total desserts. Apparently Lily just got a dog, scary thought! : ) Then Angela, Lily and I got coffee. The Starbucks people screwed up our orders in several ways, but it was their first day. We went back up to Patrick's suite and played Tetris, which was very funny since they don't play video games. They left, and then I ended up at midnight sushi with Patrick, Heather, Mary, Barbara, and Ben Land. I decided sushi at midnight is a very good idea, not surprising since I'm obsessed with sushi.
Saturday started with Special Equestrians very early in the morning. I left there a little bit early, and got ready to go to the football game in UNDER 30 MINUTES!!!! (very quick for me!) The game was fun all around. I didn't completely understand what was going on, but I enjoyed the atmosphere. Everyone was dressed in red or white and had these shaker things. When they were excited and shaking the thingy's, it was like the stadium was a white and red vibrating mass of color. I ate a hotdog with sauerkraut, and some little boy came around selling chocolate bars. Patrick apparently thought he looked like a sad Oliver Twist, so he bought three bars even though he doesn't eat much chocolate. We went back to Ben's house, where his parents fed us real home-cooked food. Which included goat cheese and a dessert with chocolate, and I was very happy. We saw the roots of Ben Land, everyone was very entertained. Then we went on a tour of Tuscaloosa, and then back to school.
I slept in very late on Sunday. Patrick gave me a tennis lesson in the raquet ball room- he says I'm getting better, but I'm not sure I believe him- we'll see... I finished the day by going back to reality with laundry, homework, and a PC meeting.
After work, I'm running by my house to pick up stuff. Then I have a lot of homework. And initiation, registration, and the last fall Special Equestrians classes are this week. Tests next week... Wow, this was a long entry...
